That is a major concern, and the politicians know it -- if the gov is shut down too long, people may come to realize they don't need it afterall. Then, the politicians (both parties) could be in real political trouble.

Thus, these shutdowns are designed to last only a few days -- just long enough to garner headlines and castigate the opposition.

It is the same all over the country. What we pay for to live better isn’t what we get... most of the money goes to make the lives of people who pay nothing better... what is left goes to pay the people who are to provide services to us...stand around and complain they have no funds for projects.

Indeed. I live in Pennsylvania, and I swear the last time the roads around here were paved must have been before I was born. If they get too bad, a team of workers show up and throw shovelfuls of pebbles and crap into the holes.

Makes me wonder what hole our taxes are falling into...

LOL!!! That is how it is in Crook County, IL. We are so broke that they literally have every officer they can find trap people speeding and have changed the speed limit in areas overnight so they can ticket people.

They put the CROOK in Crook County!
