Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says congressional lawmakers are discussing taking some action in response to the Koran burnings of a Tennessee pastor that led to killings at the U.N. facility in Afghanistan and sparked protests across the Middle East, Politico reports.
Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech, in light of Tennessee pastor Terry Jones Quran burning, and how such actions result in enabling U.S. enemies.

Libs are offended by a Koran burning, but have no problem shredding the US Constitution.
Though I think burning Korans is boorish and offensive, the Tennessee pastor should claim that he was just acting as a performanance artist.
In fact, he ought to apply for a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. When he gets rejected, he ought to sue the NEA for religious discrimination. If a fair justice system could exist in a corrupt political system, it would be a cinch to prove his case in court.
I’ll burn a free qran. But won’t waste a dime buying one.
I have a better proposal, an immediate primary challenge whether Democrat or Republican leading to joblessness for the proposer, seconder or person who votes for such a thing.
How does burning a Koran "enable" U.S. Enemies? Were they unable to commit acts of violence before a koran was burned? is Burning a Koran an illegal action which gives muslims the right under international law to kill people?
The courts have ruled that free speech doesn't include the right to words which immediately incite people in a way to create harm. Thus "fire" in a crowded theatre, or burning crosses on your lawn.
That has never applied to actions taken days later, or actions taken by a foriegn country.
I do hope they have this hearing, because it will reveal the depths to which our representatives have sunk in appeasement of the enemy.
But burning the Bible is ok? Kinda selective outrage.

“Sen. Lindsey Graham said Congress might need to explore the need to limit some forms of freedom of speech, in light of Tennessee pastor Terry Jones Quran burning, and how such actions result in enabling U.S. enemies.”
You have got to be f’ing kidding me.
Ok, Lindsey, propose an amendment and put your name to it, you gay piece of garbage.
What about limiting the rights of murderous savages to kill people who offend them?
No wait. That's religious expression. That can't be infringed upon.
Women should wear burkas, because Muslims might get offended and rape them.
Let's denounce Christianity, because Muslims might get offended and declare Jihad on us.
Outrageous!
We need a mass burning of the stupid book. I'm tired of the idiots that keep telling us this is a religion of peace. Obama and his cronies can kowtow to them, AMERICA WILL NOT.
Why don’t we just keep our traditional freedom of speech and kill Muslims who take offense to our doing so?
During World War II, we had limits on what you could do if it inspired the enemy,” Graham said, adding certain speech can put our troops at risk.
Let’s gird our loins and follow Linseed’s logic here:
If some American had burned `Mein Kampf’ during WWII that could have infuriated some Germans, otherwise peaceable people, except for maybe the SS, and caused them to attack our troops with renewed energy?
We’re being led by imbeciles.
I guess we now know what it takes to get Reid and Graham mto treat your religion with some deference.
As a postscript, they keep telling us that we’re not at war with Islam.
Isn’t Terry Jones from Florida? Article says Tennessee.
Just saw a report on FOX on obozo’s statement and one made by Petraeus - I hate to say this but obozo’s was more acceptable than Petraeus’s. At least obozo’s words numbered more in condemnation of the attacks/slaughter in Afghanistan because of this incident. Petraeus only mentioned the burning as being unacceptable or some such claptrap - no condemnation for the actions taken because of it.
Karzi wants Congress to investigate the burning? HA!!!! Why on earth would Congress have any such responsiblity? They have police powers or something we don’t know about?
Show me the law that says you can’t burn a Koran or even a Bible if you so chose. Congress has considered that burning the flag would be acceptable (a symbol of our liberty and freedom) but destroying a book that is meant to inflame and condone murder deserves more protection than that?
I dare say if a Bible were burned in this country, there wouldn’t be any rioting or butchering going on.
Probe!? What the hell is there to probe? A guy burned a book. The book is still burnt. Just because the book happened to be a koran (devil book) doesn’t justify rioting and killing. Barbarians!
This country is so over.
Soooo, should I send notice to the government if I plan to burn one? I think I should just to see what will happen.
They do that and I'll start burning Korans on the capital steps myself. (that's my kneejerk response and I'm sticking with it)
