Rethinking Sarah Palin For President
Irish Examiner USA ^ | 3/29/2011 | By Alicia Colon

Although I have written several columns expressing my admiration for Sarah Palin, I admit I have never taken her seriously as a 2012 presidential candidate. I've always felt that her greatest asset was as a kingmaker and behind the scenes advisor. In addition I've assumed that she wasn't that interested in pursuing the job but rather enjoyed making waves in the liberal media. The more I read the continuing attacks on Palin and her family I've started wondering why the Democrats and their media lapdogs fear her so much. Even some conservative pundits have determined that she is unelectable because of her high negatives. Those negatives are actually bogus and based on lies and misinformation and there is really only one word to describe Sarah Palin - indomitable.

Bill Maher played to the lowest common denominator and insinuated that Palin was a "dumb tw**t" and his moronic audience cheered. Ari Fleischer, a former press secretary in the George W. Bush administration, said recently that he couldn't see "any way, shape or form that [Palin] can win" the White House. Naturally there was a Public Policy poll that determined that Democratic and Independent voters would vote for Charlie Sheen over Sarah Palin. The fact that there was even such a poll should indicate the vigorous campaign to minimize her credibility as a serious candidate. Who's paying for these skewered polls anyway?

The anti-Palin campaign stretches to foreign media where Canadian TV columnist John Doyle writes in the Globe and Mail that television forever killed Palin's chances to be president. He writes: "television duly destroyed the Palin authenticity. The arc of her national political career began with a defining speech at the Republican National Convention in September, 2008,

Wow, another in-house PDS misogynist crawls out of the muck...

Yeah. This is a personal issue that makes a reasoned debate with the person quite impossible. The individual must not be much of a fan of Deborah, Esther, Bouddica, Elizabeth I, Maria Theresa, Jeane Kirkpatrick or Maggie Thatcher either.

IMO, she has no game, just a name.

Well if thats the case, then why are the lefties and some of the right wing trying to do every thing they can to discredit her?

Are they really so stupid that they would let some one of no consequence take up so much of their time?

If she can beat obamo or not seems to be the issue, but as for her ability to do the job? no question in my mind, she is an American, not a socialist.

I believe there are only three things that would be the deciding factor on her winning,

that would be the lies of the main stream press, the men who do not think that a woman could do the job, and the fact that many women might not vote for her because of their jealousy, they would feel more comfortable with some one with Hillarys looks.

For this election, I don't intend to sit on the sidelines while the MSM attempts to decide the 2012 GOP candidate.

I could not agree with you more!!!!

And those who decry the msm must be very conflicted. After all, there is much derision aimed at the msm....small instead of capital letters, "dinosaur media", "unimportant", "powerless", "liberal biased" and the like.

Yet, most of us know in our hearts that the msm...whether we like it or not, or agree with it or not.... remains an incredibly powerful force in this land.

It can indeed make or break a given person (look at SP as an example), a candidate, a party (Tea Party - after months of msm derision is losing "favorability" ratings), or a presidency (I give you GW Bush - tho he spent most of his last two years in office feeding the frenzy, not starving it).

The msm is very far from "dead"! And we ignore or downplay its power and influence at our own peril.

45% of this country are GOD-less and lazy... wanting free stuff and no job or responsibilities. America may not survive because of them.

**********************************

America and Americans will survive them. Ultimately, American liberty will survive them.

The social welfare authoritarian state known as the United States of America, which has incrementally undermined and supplanted the liberty based republic which formerly existed under that name, may well implode in a similar manner and for similar reasons as did the former Soviet Union.

Part of me thinks she has the 1980 Reagan charisma to overcome all this.

Excessive rejection in high school and the singles bars will do that to some guys.

True. It is a very sad sight to behold.

Well, right now, America needs someone who can clean house, get the ‘kids’ in Congress to straighten up, do their homework and do better with their allowance, send the neighborhood hellions home, and get the books back on the shelves.

We can worry about the lawn later.

************************************************

You know, that is a beautiful summary and analogy, and it somehow makes the whole task look doable.

Thank you. My day is starting off better because of your post!

noticed also that places like Hotair and other RINOish websites are doing the same thing. Two media smack downs yesterday and a rebuttal to Obama’s energy plan and not one post about Palin. I guess since no one called her a c*** yesterday Hotair didn't find anything newsworthy to post about....

i got to laugh. She drives their ratings they don't drive hers.

Also think about this. Palin’s run will be historic as the first woman at the top of a national ticket which will take away the Obama “historic” meme as well.

Palin is a threat to alot of leftwing myths.

I cannot disagree with your statement. A new America may be the solution... I know that the 45% that I spoke of are not compatible with Liberty and Freedom.

Wow, Low, just wow. I don't even know what to say to your diatribe. I am dumbstruck by your beliefs that women should be barefoot and pregnant and tied to the stove.

I feel really sorry for you because you are missing some of the best things about strong women. Oh well. I certainly hope the cave is heated for the winter.

Try checking her record.

Speaking of records, how about Obamas birth record? but also Ronald Reagan had the best record and what did the media and the socialists do? they tried their best to destroy the best president this nation has ever seen.

Get a man up there like Reagan and i will vote for him, but until then i think Palin is the best because she has the guts to tell it like it is, too many men have become pansys ( this political correctness stuff.)

The police state republicans and the police state socialist democrats both fear Palin and that shows she is on the right track.

Well she never served as President to the Screen Actors Guild Union but she has shown some of his ideology and actions as Governor... but you people seem to ignore some of her accomplishments in Alaska. I can’t wait for the debates to begin. If she runs... her talent and abilities will be undeniable.

oh and has been here longer than you.

This "seniority" thing I have been hearing on FR is getting just a little bit old. Especially when the OWNER of the site has declared it Palin Country. Two PDSers (one a long-time member, pissant) have been zotted with extreme prejudice. I have YET to see a Sarah Palin supporter on FR zotted.

So, seniority would seem to matter on FR somewhat less than your opinion on a given issue or person. And I would say that as an opponent of Sarah Palin, your seniority will not protect you if you go the pissant route.

Sorry, 2ndDivisionVet and VirginiaRidgeRunner, I held off responding to the trolls as long as I humanly could...
