President Barack Obamas approval rating and prospects for reelection have plunged to all-time lows in a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday.
Half of the registered voters surveyed for the poll think that the president does not deserve a second term in office, while 41 percent say he does. In another Quinnipiac poll released just four weeks ago, 45 percent said the president did not deserve reelection, while 47 percent said he did.
The decline in support for a second Obama term comes as his approval rating has dropped 4 percentage points since early March, landing at 42 percent a record low in the poll released Wednesday. His disapproval rating has risen from 46 percent to 48 percent.

Polls using registered voters skew to the Dems.
It must have just killed POLITICO to publish this..I’m shocked they even did it!
ALL of TV will keep covering for him including Fox. Fox is slight better but they are all covering for him. Keep watching TV cause it supports him.
Prostitutes and liberal journalists have no shame. But I repeat myself...
Especially in the City of Brotherly Love...
In related news, 47% of of the people questioned in this poll are totally clueless and apparently enjoy their country being flushed down the toilet by a socialist egomaniac.
It might be good news but when one considers the complete ineptitude of this administration, especially in his economic policy which has done NOTHING to lessen unemployment, or promote growth, you have to wonder how it is possible his approval ratings are not in the 20’s.
“45% of ALL Americans support him”
They are too busy watching Dancing with the Stars to be bothered by the news of the day...got to dig to find the REAL news; they won’t do it...
That 40% will vote for anyone who promises them an extra dollar in their welfare check.
50% disapprove yet we are supposed to believe he would beat all GOP contenders.
I just hope the GOP has a decent candidate who will actually do decent things when elected. Not spectacular things, just the right things.
I heard there's going to be a lot of lay offs this summer. Oboma is also cutting oil imports by 30%.(Washington Post)
I don't think the monetary super-tanker can be turned around before the election, so I think this effect is a baked-in benefit for us. It may be primarily Bernanke's fault (monetary policy), but it is secondarily 0bummer's fault (fiscal policy), so the charge of "Inflationist" will logically and correctly stick.
Plus which, Unemployment is still going to be bad. There are very few weak signs of recovery in the jobs market. If you're doing fine but your neighbor is unemployed, you think you're one step out of the unemployment line yourself. And you're right. And 0bamanomics caused that, so the "Job Killer" label should correctly stick to 0bummer.
Further, the nastiness of 0bamaCare just keeps piling up on a daily basis, and people hate it the more time goes on. Democrats are totally incapable of repeal, so this will remain a potent issue.
The Senate is ours for the taking. The incumbents who can lose are almost all Democrats.
0bama seems incapable of taking advantage of the office of the Presidency. When was the last time the country largely nodded in agreement with one of his speeches, much less listened to him?
I'm optimistic!
Gallup has is approval rating at 45%--way too high it seems to me.

I agree... but we are in the minority.
