Tax the Super Rich now or face a revolution
Market Watch ^ | March 29, 2011 | Paul B. Farrell

Yes, tax the Super Rich. Tax them now. Before the other 99% rise up, trigger a new American Revolution, a meltdown and the Great Depression 2.

We know the Super Rich don’t care. Not about you. Nor the American public. They can’t see. Can’t hear. Stay trapped in their Forbes-400 bubble. An echo chamber that isolates them. They see the public as faceless workers, customers, taxpayers. See GOP power on the ascent. Reaganomics is back. Unions on the run. Clueless masses are easily manipulated.

Even Obama is secretly working with the GOP, will never touch his Super Rich donors. Yes, the Super-Rich Delusion is that powerful, infecting all America.

Here’s how one savvy insider who knows described this Super-Rich Delusion: “The top 1% live privileged lives, aren’t worried about much. Families vacation at the best resorts. Their big concerns are finding the best Pilates teacher, best masseuse, best surgeons, best private schools. They aren’t concerned with the underlying deterioration of America or the world, except in the abstract, because they aren’t directly affected by it. That’s not to say they aren’t sympathetic, aware, or don’t talk about the issues you bring up. They are largely concerned with protecting and enhancing their socio-economic positions, ensuring their families live well. And nothing you write about will change things.”

Uh, I’d rather not get masted. But if it happens I’ll hear about it, as I do pretty much everything that happens aboard. Somehow.

OK, I’ll bite.... What does it mean to get “masted”?

It’s non-judicial punishment. The equivalent of being put in time out as opposed to going to the brig for five years.

The Evil Sleeps came and got me in spite of the coffee.

Now I have a few minutes to work on organizing music, and then off in the coooooold, to pick Bill and Tom up from the church.

I had to persuade the Good Sleeps to come on by. But alas, they were soon departed.

We could have traded!

Choir will be arriving soon. We have to hurry if we’re going to use all our penitential songs before Easter. Three of the hymns I picked for today use psalm texts. Father would be impressed, if he understood Spanish ;-).

Good luck!

I am still trying to figure out what I will do next Sunday. LoM thought the wedding was close, but I see online it's the 29th so both options remain open. I can visit a parish some distance from the airport, an hour or so by train, that a coworker attends; he won't be there but I have visited before. But I'll also be fairly trashed. Other alternative is to go into downtown London and tour; the only chance I'll get.

I can't do both because I need to be back at the hotel when they will finally allow me to check in, 8 hours after I arrive in the UK.

I haven’t been sleeping well, myself. Maybe tonight will be different. Maybe the Zombie Sleeps will visit.

The gap between the rich and the poor is getting larger, and larger, and larger, until Darwinian greed is no longer good.

The gap between the rich and the poor is getting larger, and larger, and larger,

Bull.

The gap between "rich" and "poor" in the USA now days is very small. Both have warm dry place to sleep, tasty food in abundance, clothes to wear and a variety of amusements to enjoy.

The biggest gap was always between the man who had a biscuit and the man who had none.

"The man who has none" for all intents and purpose's no longer exists in the US.

Who is "the rich"? Why the man who has more of what I have in abundance! It should be taken from him!

I wonder if the people who come up with this stuff ever sit down and think it through. If so, they should be hardily ashamed of themselves.

"We have to hurry if we’re going to use all our penitential songs before Easter."

Hmm.

How will you be able to make up for it if you don't?
