Mike Huckabee Calls 9/11 Cheerleader, Cop-Killer Supporter Van Jones "Fellow Patriot"
Monday, March 28, 2011 | Kristinn

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee shared a stage with the cop-killer supporter and 9/11 attack cheerleader Anthony "Van" Jones last night in Tallahassee.

Reports on the Florida State and Florida A&M universities joint-event called the State of the Student Summit, are scarce, however Huckabee shared the love with Jones afterward by approvingly re-Tweeting a message Jones sent to Huckabee:

VanJones68 Van Jones by GovMikeHuckabee
.@GovMikeHuckabee made me proud tonight 2B fellow person of faith + fellow patriot. We disagreed respectfully. The American way! #tcot #p2
14 hours ago

A video of a Jones-led rally held the day after the 9/11 terror attacks recently resurfaced that shows speakers and the crowd cheering the attacks, with one speaker praising the attackers as "heroes." Jones said at the rally the U.S. deserved the attacks.

A year or so later Jones produced a record album with the cop-killer Mumia Abu Jamal who was convicted of the 1981 murder of Philadelphia policeman Daniel Faulkner.

Jones has since made a career for himself as a charismatic speaker marketing leftist eco-pablum under the cloak of Obama-style kumbaya "patriotism."

Huckabee looks to have fallen for the Jones' act.

Starving? Who in America is actually starving?

The #1 nutrition problem of the poor in America is OBESITY. Nobody starves in America unless they are insane or someone is starving them.

We have Huckabee also saying this....

“My comments were about the statistical reality that most single moms are very poor, under-educated, can't get a job, and if it weren't for government assistance, their kids would be starving to death.”

Really? How many starving children did we have here in America before welfare?

Congressman LTC Allen West, we need you sir!

RIGHT ON! Join the movement!

Exodus 3:10-12
"Therefore, come now, and I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring My people, the sons of Israel, out of Egypt."
But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?"
And He said, "Certainly I will be with you, and this shall be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall worship God at this mountain."

RUN ALLEN RUN

Let’s hope the evangelicals stay at home in 2012.

So you want a second term for BO/BS? If the evangelicals stay home it will be a rout of the republicans.

“I am anti-Christian because I disagree with giving public benefits to illegal aliens?
The duty of Government is not to fulfill peoples Christian obligations to charity- and Mike Huckabee is an idiot if he thinks that is the proper role of government.”

Welfare is a reality that is NOT going to change...too ingrained in system. That being the reality, as governor of his state, he felt it would be “unchristian” to subsidize some but not other...if I read him correctly. I concurr that “charity” should be a non-compulsory thing...meaning no tax monies used. However, until that is so...as in never. I understand his view...and agree it is the Christian thing to do.

And yes, I think Christ would not be so cold hearted as you state. “Caeser” has decreed welfare state....therefore it falls that the “Christian” thing would be to extend to all that need. This does not excuse someone being in this country illegally. However, except for those here for criminal (drugs, prositution, crime..) their only real crime was to want a better life like my ancestors...and probably yours did. Of course, immigration laws should and must be enforced. However, too many are just draconian in what they desire to happen to illegal immigrants.

Goodless, I DO NOT like being in the position of defending illegal immigrants. I just don’t like to see things blown out of proportion.

“Really? How many starving children did we have here in America before welfare?”

No sensible person likes a welfare state that is designed to keep the poor dependent on government largesse to ensure a voting base for some politician.

However, yes many children were (and still are) undernourished in this country before welfare. Sadly, many still are.

My parents lived through the great depression...they can tell stories.

“his psuedo-religious cult”

Oh please....grow up. IF any personality cult exists on FR it is the Palinistas. I’m NOT a Huckabee supporter, but it ticks me off when someone makes such reckless statements as yours. Plus, you have violated forum protocols.

Personally, I think anyone who owns a “Glock” (Sigs and even S&W are better) is a dumb sucker. They aren’t as good as other brands as way too over priced. How is that for a personal insult????

Blown out of proportion?

How about this for “proportion”?

While other State Governors have led on the issue of illegal immigration, Huckabee frames the Constitutional obligation of our Government as one of Christian charity. Don't kick them out, give them welfare.

When we were struck on 9-11 was it our Constitutional duty to “turn the other cheek”?

I’m NOT Huckabee’s defender or supporter...but you are exagerating again. I don’t like our open border either. However, I don’t have a rabid hatred of Hispanics either.

No exaggeration required.

Huckabee’s take on illegal immigration was not enforcement, but handouts.

I don't have a “rabid hatred” of Hispanics either, I was married to a Hispanic and my cousins are Hispanic.

So first I hated Christians, now I hate Hispanics?

Nice to know you can make a reasonable argument without demonizing the opposing position...... NOT!

Huckabee is an idiot on many a subject, up to and including, American history, the power of pardons, and immigration. Worse is that he seems to view the Government as a tool to fulfill his Christian duty of forgiveness (pardons) and charity (handouts for illegals).

After 9-11 was it “Unchristian” of us not to, as a nation, “turn the other cheek”?

“Pretty soon, Southern white guys like me may be in the minority,” Hucksterbee said jokingly as the crowd roared in laughter.

He told the LULAC delegates that their presence in the state’s capital city was very important because Arkansas has one of the fastest growing Hispanic populations in the nation.

“Your gathering is so very significant for our state,” Hucksterbee said. “We are delighted to have you”

“Our economy is a complete disaster and your biggest concern is DADT?”

Yes I do. What good is prosperity when you live in a moral sewer. You get the moral stuff right, and the rest will follow.

Also, national security is important to me....repealing DADT degrades our military readiness.

I don't like Huckabee either but some here focus on him a bit much.

He is no threat.

This race is Palin, Romney, Christie or Bachman if I had to say at this point....maybe Pawlenty...

Cain is a very very dark horse even though I like what he says and many here love how he looks too...something I eschew as irrelevant and been there down that and been disappointed every time...Powell, Watts, Rice.
