NEW YORK Urban radio and TV personality DJ Megatron, who built a career at hip-hop and R&B radio stations from Philadelphia to Boston and told viewers of a popular music TV show "What's Good," was shot to death early Sunday, according to his manager and police.
The BET cable television segment host was killed while heading to a store near his home on New York City's borough of Staten Island around 2 a.m., his manager Justin Kirkland, known as J. Smoove, said.

“Staten Island around 2 a.m.”
I think I spotted the problem.
Try not to let this shake you faith in the Hip-Hop community.
Probably some Lutheran or Mennonite is responsible. When will we learn? In other news, who is this guy anyway?
No, I was never on a party line, but I had a friend who was. I still have one of those things in the basement, it worked last time I hooked it up. We didn’t get touch tone phones until some time after 1985, when I got my first 1200 Baud modem. There is still a 50 cent/month surcharge for touchTone in Massachusetts! even though it costs the phone company a whole lot less than rotary dial to implement.
100% chance that everyone involved were “Holder’s people”. This will get more attention than the slain BP Officer, and the ICE Agent killed in Mexico.
B.E.T. on it.
So what was it that he told the viewers?
Hip-hop is known for its way of making real life imitate art, but I doubt that’s what happened here. Prolly more like
“This is a stickup!”
“Do you know who I am?”
“BANG!”
wrong thread??
How’d you ever guess?
hip hop has very little to do with telephone service...
Very few of those involved in rap/hip-hop seem to die from natural causes...
You are astute!
the world needs more stutes
So, how’s all that gun control workin’ out for ya, Mayor Bloomberg?
Maybe you need to run some gun show stings in your own city!!!
Big dollar figures like this can hire out bodyguards who have the requisite government blessing to pack heat... for whatever reason, he skipped that for this trip.
The liberal hand wringing over this which is sure to follow would be highly amusing if it wasn’t so tragically blind and harmful to all.
Better yet, maybe Bloomberg should be looking more to the BATFE and DOJ for the source of all those illegal guns in his city.
re: “Gunwalker” or “Fast and Furious”
Gangsta is as Gangsta does.
