Hasner’s candidacy intrigues me and he looks like he has a lot of promise.
Note that this article is ten days old. Mack has since ruled out running for the Senate, and will seek reelection to his House seat.
That’s good, because exposure of some things in his personal life would guarantee his defeat.
Shall we take bets on when the NRSC chimes in with an endorsement before the primary? I would bet on their choice being Mack. I would say the Tea Party groups would call this a non-starter.
Thanks for this post.
I am STILL mad that Nelson was allowed to win in 2006 because the GOP elite would not get behind Harris with time and money.
IMHO, Nelson is the LAST remnant of the Lawton Chiles “Good-Ol’-Boy” dem structure that held Florida for years.
I hope whoever runs aginst Nelson is supported with the time and money to “retire” him.
Didn’t see the above mention of Mack. Next on their line would be Pepe. But then again, maybe Cornyn and his bunch of RINOs learned something from the Rubio campaign. The way the leadership has been going, not likely.
Me too!
If you’re talking about Connie Mack IV, he’s decided not to run.
I had heard vaguely of Hasner a while back. Why did he relinquish his position as Florida House majority leader? Seems like he left the state legislature completely. Why?
If I’m not mistaken, he was term-limited.
Bump, bump and bump. Nelson voted for Obamacare, too.
He was.
FL has term limits and sees frequent change in state leg leadership. Pretty Much a new Speaker and Senate Prez every 2 years.
We need to pick a good candidate for this one.
Amen! I never understood that. Harris was a hero for standing by the law and certifying the 2000 election results for Bush. She had a lot of pressure from many angles but she did the right thing without flinching. Why the Republicans abandoned an attractive conservative woman and went for the metro-sexual, moderate Nelson is beyond me.
Because of things like that we now have the Tea Party Movement and lots of attractive conservative women in and running for office and the old line Republican Party one the wane.
Huckster lives in FL these days and is making noises about running for Bill Nelson’s Senate seat
Nelson is an idiot, senile or both. My guess is both. This comes from observing him for a decade
“We need to pick a good candidate for this one.”
I think that Adam Hasner has the potential to be an appealing candidate. He thought about running against Ron Klein last year but deferred to Allen West, which was gracious on his part.
Florida is choosing some good conservative candidates. I am very interested in seeing Bill Nelson retired. Hasner sounds like an interesting candidate. Greg Eagle

Adam Hasner is a good communicator and he certainly made political points by defering to Allen West. I met Adam about a year ago and was impressed.
I’m relieved Mack dropped out becasue the field was getting too crowded......
