President Obama Continues To Get A Free Pass For His War Policies From Most On The Left
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | Joseph Klein

President Barack Obama has launched a third war in a Muslim country, expanded the war in Afghanistan and is continuing many of the national security policies of former President George W. Bush, including keeping Guantanamo open, indefinite detentions of enemy combatants, rendition and military trials. Civilians continue to be killed by U.S. and NATO military forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan. And, in just the last few days, photos have begun to be released of atrocious crimes against Afghan civilians, allegedly committed last year by American soldiers.

Nevertheless, most of the Obama administration’s Left-wing supporters are still in the fold, remaining silent when the same sort of conduct during the Bush years brought an unrelenting stream of vitriolic condemnations against George W. Bush.

True, Obama is beginning to face a few challenges from the hard Left. However, his progressive base is mostly sticking with him for now.

One challenger on the Left is Ralph Nader, who has called for President Obama’s impeachment, saying he is responsible for war crimes in the Middle East.

In an interview with the anti-war group Democracy Now!, Nader compared Obama to Bush:

Why don’t we say what’s on the minds of many legal experts; that the Obama administration is committing war crimes; and if Bush should have been impeached, Obama should be impeached. “[Bush officials] were considered war criminals by many people. Now, Barack Obama is committing the same crimes. In fact, worse ones in Afghanistan. Innocents are being slaughtered, we are creating more enemies, he is violating international law.

Most, but I’m enjoying the way Kucinich and Nader, among others, are poking at him.

I’m reading D’Souza’s book on Obama today. He believes that Obama has no intention of doing anything but failed foreign policy-—including failed wars-—in an effort to emabarass America for being what he considers a neo-colonial power; i.e. the successor to the British colonialists who supposedly plagued his father’s family in Kenya.

It’s a very good theory for understanding Obama’s sick America-hating behavior. The only problem is it relies on Obama’s books being his own work and his speeches expressing his true feelings.

Only in the ‘age of Obama’ are Islamist terrorists not allowed to be called terrorists, and war, Obama starts, not allowed to be called war.

Not only from the left, Americans seem to be supporting his Libya policies, based on recent polling.

Speaking of Obama’s books really being his own or not, when he got the contract for his first book, he and Michelle went on a leave of absence to Bali to write it. A cynic such as myself would surmise they were actually shipped off to Bali while the ghost writer worked here in the U.S. Obama’s resume just reeks of someone pulling strings to move him up the political ladder at warp speed. Either that, or I need to start believing in fairy tales.

How does Obama get away with this? Hypocrisy, that’s how. Liberals would be lost without hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is mother’s milk to a liberal.
