President Obama, Nobel Peace Prize winner, launched an attack on another country while in another country, without the congressional approval that George W. Bush had and with only about half as many other countries on board. Obama seemed to feel this constituted enough of a moral high ground from which to take a jab at the former president. *snip*
As the folks at Fox quickly pointed out, Bush actually had twice as many international allies for the invasion of Iraq as Obama has put together for his adventure in Libya.

Very good point. Maybe this was all a set up by UK and the others to get back at him. These leaders can see right through him. They barf when they watch him in speeches. It is indeed a slap to all of them.

Good observation -- but I think we can be more specific, and actually see an evolution of this little rhetorical technique.
When Obama first became president, he referred to mistakes made "over the past eight years".
As time went on, this became awkward, since his own track record became included in the 8-year span, while Bush's initial time in office dropped out of consideration. At this point, Obama started talking about problems "over the past 10 years".
Now Obama is in his third year. It's harder to make the allusion which he wants to make -- but he does so by now saying "in the past".
It's quite childish, but that's the sort of person he is.
Not only is Libya not comparable to Iraq, it had actually become a non-hostile power that was occasionally helpful in the WOT, mainly, IMHO, because Quaddafi didn’t want AQ and MB challenging his own powwer. Thus we had a ruthless despot who’d keep his people under control and help us. Now the Illegal has changed all that and turned a helpful state that we didn’t have to spend anything on into a hostile state sthat will be an endless bleeding sore, just like Iraq and Afganistan. Doing that took a man of either exceptional stupidity or malevolence. My bet is on malevolence because he’s doing his best to promote the other AQ and MB revolts thoughout the Mideast. In othe swords, he’s a traitor who needs to be impeached and removed from office.

The difference here is that Libya did nothing to attack us or challenge our vital interests. Indeed, it was pretty much the opposite in that Libya abandoned its nuclear program in 2003 after the Iraq invasion, stopped sponsaoring terrorism, and even gave us occcasional help in dealing with AQ and the MB. Thus, we have an utterly poiontless attack on a non-hostile power that's turned it into a hostile one and assured us an endless bleeding sore, much like Iraq and Afganistan.

Qadaffi’s been struggling to keep Al Qaeda in check in Libya for a long time now. They’ve tried to assassinate Qadaffi several times and have been trying to take control of Libya. That’s most likely the main reason why Qadaffi join and participated in our war against Al Qaeda.
Now that the marines appear to be on their way to Libya we may be shedding US blood to put in power the very same people reported to have left eastern Libya to go fight and kill our soldiers in Iraq during the Iraqi War.

Did a lot of reading prior for our Vietnam trip this year. Re Tonkin and an attack on our ships:
In 2005, an internal National Security Agency historical study was declassified; it concluded[7] that the Maddox had engaged the North Vietnamese Navy on August 2, but that there may not have been any North Vietnamese Naval vessels present during the incident of August 4. The report stated:
[I]t is not simply that there is a different story as to what happened; it is that no attack happened that night. [...] In truth, Hanoi’s navy was engaged in nothing that night but the salvage of two of the boats damaged on August 2.[8]
So you are correct that this incident, whatever it was, did seem to propel us into that war in Vietnam.
Seems like the Middle East has become a real powder keg and we look like we have no leadership to deal with it.
