We've seen Camp Lejuene marines in Iraq and Afghanistan and now they are joining the fight against Libya. 2200 marines from the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, or 26th MEU will take part. Their mission is to help end the violence directed at the Libyan people.
"In Libya right now they are doing exactly what we need them to do. They are doing what they are told and right now that's protecting Libyan people against Qadhafi forces," said Captain Timothy Patrick, a marine with the 26th MEU.
A press release from the 26th MEU reads, in part:
"Protecting the innocent and conducting combined operations are what we are designed to do, our forces are doing both as part of the U.S commitment to protect Libyan citizens."
Patrick says that marines from the 26th MEU are coming on the end of their deployment. They will be replaced with marines from the 22nd MEU.

Well, when you know that ships like the Bataan are moving into the fray, you know that troops are moving. That was obvious already before Obummer skipped the country to do some more incitement in South America.
Appears nobody wants to assume official command of this “humanitarian mission” (France, Germany, UK, Italy, etc...) all appear unwilling to lead in this effort and a quickly implemented no-fly zone with all these countries planes involved is a recipe for disaster.
So guess who?
So what about those two U.S pilots who were downed? They'll just be left in Libya? No team will extract them?
Funny thing is that some marines in Jacksonville, near where I live, have already received orders a week ago to deploy to Libya.

True. But if Libya is shutdown for many more months to years, Italy, Spain, and the other Euro countries that get a significant (over 25%) of their oil from Libya will buy it elsewhere to meet their needs. Elsewhere = countries that we get ours from.
Oil over $100 for the next year will cause a major hit to worldwide GDP, not just the Euros, but worldwide including the USA. This will kill any progress we’ve made pulling ourselves out of the recession and improving the still horrible job market.
