Airport breaches rile Massachusetts congressman

A Massachusetts congressman who has been critical of security operations at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport says he will ask a House subcommittee to study two recent cases in which the security fence at the airport has been breached.

Rep. William Keating, a Democrat from the Boston area, will raise the issue with the Homeland Security Oversight Subcommittee, his office has confirmed. Keating is a member of that panel.

Keating has accused the Transportation Security Administration, the Department of Homeland Security and Charlotte's airport operations of lax security, after 16-year-old Delvonte Tisdale apparently climbed into the wheel well of a Boeing 737 last Nov. 15 in Charlotte. Tisdale's body was found on a street in Milton, Mass., on the approach that the US Airways jet followed on its flight from Charlotte to Boston's Logan International Airport.

That is rich, I bet you cannot find an airport in this country that doesn’t have illegals working there that have access to the aircraft.

Haley Gentry, a spokeswoman for the airport, said the two incidents this month were not serious.
"There was never a safety concern about this," she said. "There's absolutely nothing involved with this that should be a security issue at all."

Unbelievable stupidity, ignorance or both. No one with half a brain could ever make statements like that. Who runs the airport, Dems?

I am familiar with this story, and Keating has been a Congressman for 2 whole months already.

Years ago, I used to moonlight as a truck driver. One time I was sent to the Post Office at Logan Airport. I was lost, and unable to find the USPS. You have to drive down a one way street the wrong way in order to get there. That is typical Massachusetts driving stuff anyhow.

So there I was with my 48 ft tractor trailer trying to find the access road, and don't you know that I was at a taxi runway with my truck & trailer.

I was scared out of my mind. I did a bit of 18 wheeling, turned the truck around and got out of Dodge.

There was no security whatsoever.

Nothing surprises me when it comes to airport pretend crap.

The TSA is a very bad joke, almost as obscene as is the Congress.

Airport Security is where cops go to double dip on public pensions. It is amazing how many cops who are on disability pensions work full time as cops for airport police.

I accidently turned on to an Air Force taxiway once in the in Deisel Bronco. It was O-dark:thirty hours and got out before I got charged a million dollars for a FOD sweep.

In some ways, it’s worse than that: Security found the boxcutters and let them and their boxcutters on. Can’t have “profiling”, ya know.
