Google to fight global warming 'ignorance'
American Thinker ^ | March 21, 2011 | Russell Cook

Posted on 03/21/2011 12:47:48 PM PDT by opentalk

SolveClimateNews.com blessed us with an article telling how Google "has brought together a team of 21 climate researchers to improve the way the science of global warming is communicated using new media". This, no doubt in response to widespread reports of a Gallup poll showing ever-decreasing concern by the public about global warming, which must also explain why the GOP-controlled US House is moving forward with actions to thwart greenhouse gas regulations. Ignorance run amok, thus Google's experts are here to save the day.

If only that were the case. The enormous irony here is the very service Google itself provides: people can do their own fact checking on the so-called global warming crisis and all facets related to it.

...Why is Google and its hand-picked ‘experts' seeking to re-educate us on global warming? Because we used Google to discover the mainstream media and far-left politicians and enviro-activist groups have orchestrated their narratives to exclude half the story. This is entirely the reason why I write these pieces, I read Ross Gelbspan's accusation against skeptic scientists for the upteenth time in 2009, but I didn't just move along, I stopped to Google search it.

When they have Global warming conferences, everyone flies in from all over the World. You’d think they would video-conference to display concern for the environment.

Google images is awesome but their search queries after they changed their algorithms haven’t been exact. Heck, I even use Yahoo search which miraculously got me the info that I expected but not Google.

They are now buddies with the NSA so F Google.

“Google to fight global warming ‘ignorance’”

With a title like this, I thought maybe Google was going to help prove GW is a sham.

Google has been at this for some time now. Wonder what financial kickbacks not on the books they’ll be receiving from czars and EPA officials thus new IRS agents( wha t about 5,000?) to ignore or bury all transactions. Lately I have been finding much of anything useful on google searches. Most political and real news is quite buried.

I don't know why anyone here would even consider using Google. I've been on line since 1998 and I have NEVER used Google.

Frantzie is always railing on about funding leftists etc. through TV/cable/satellite subscriptions and I'll bet s/he uses Google.

http://www.startpage.com

Startpage is powered by Ixquick. It does not record your IP address.

Every time you use a regular search engine, your search data is recorded. Many search engines capture your IP address and use tracking cookies to make a record of your search terms, the time of your visit, and the links you choose - then the information is stored in a massive database.

Our searches reveal tons of personal information, which the major search engines have saved to amass the largest database of personal information on individuals ever collected.

I also remember reading a while back that Google actually writes data to your hard drive.

Are they going to redirect us from the OldSpeak sites to the govt approved NewSpeak?
Americans aren’t going to put up with Chinese-style limiting of the Internet.

Yep. Time to stop using Google. Too bad, they are the best search engine to find anything, unless there’s something new out there that I haven’t heard of?
