The forces of tolerance are ostracising and harrassing her?

Irony there.

She probably figured the Asians would act like whitey people and do nothing.

America is going to make a great Muslim country. We’ve already got most of the population running around shouting, “I Keel You!” when you say something they don’t like.

“the harassment of my family, the publishing of my personal information, death threats and being ostracized from an entire community”

Routine display of liberal tolerance and fairplay.

If she were Black, we would never have heard of this (racist) incident.

I'm surprised that she did not die by way of a machete.

If she were a Brit, she’d probably be talking about Pakistani Muslims. Since she’s American, and this is UCLA, she’s presumably talking about Chinese, and a few Japanese and Koreans.

Far from receiving affirmative action from California universities, Asian students are discriminated against, because they are not a designated minority. And they are overrepresented in California universities because a) they are bright; b) they are ambitious and eager to succeed; and c) their families really push them.

So, ranting against them makes little sense. They are not part of the affirmative action crowd that makes it harder for whites to get into good colleges. They are just bright and ambitious.

Why isn't UCLA actively pursuing and prosecuting those making death threats and hanging out outside classrooms where Alexandra was supposed to take her finals, lying in wait for her? Or are only certainly people protected by UCLA? And are only some people protected by the First Amendment and not others? Breakdown of Rule of Law, especially First Amendment Rights = anarchy or tyranny. Great place for it to start, on what is supposed to be a bastion of Free Speech and Open Exchange of Ideas. And no, I haven't been living under a rock; I resent my satanic California state taxes paying for an institution that will not uphold the Bill of Rights, let alone the Constitution. Some are more equal than others, it seems....

She is terrified of ASIANS killing her? Come on! She deserves to quit UCLA if she really thinks that Asians will kill her. Sure, no Asian will be her friend and she can call it being ostracized, but that is fair treatment.

What she said was insensitive, especially in light of what’s happening in Japan. However, the reaction she has received has been so over the top that she has become a victim. There are too many people who like to play Gotcha; as soon as someone makes a public mistake, there are alot of people who will try to destroy that person in order to make themselves feel superior.

Isn't it wonderful what mass immigration post-1965 has brought us?

The native born Americans are now pushed out of the schools that generations of their families sacrificed to build, just because the new arrivals are hostile and belligerent when someone hurts their precious feelings.

What do they say about Americans in their native languages? If two Chinese students at UCLA banter about the ridiculous round eyes in Chinese, and do so openly, will anyone castigate them? If they put it up on YouTube, will it result in their ostracision?

Nope. Of course not, for they are above Americans in status: they can say and do anything they want, with any sort of hostility and hate, but it's all OK for them.

Hope all the little darlings are happy they got rid of Alexandra: now they can just buy posters of her and sit in their dorm rooms and do...well, you get the idea.

If the definition of a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged, I’m curious to see how this very public P.C. flogging will impact her belief system.

Hell, let her say what she wants. The objections made it more than clear the vast majority of people out there disagreed with her.

I just find it interesting, the tone of her rant. Who could possibly want more kids that apply themselves, study hard, and make excellent grades in a major university setting.

Enough of that! /s

I saw the original video.

She was commenting in a not so politically correct way on how Asian students act uncouthly in this country. For example, like how Asian students have no respect for the sanctity of a public library by yapping on their cell phones.

The fact is she was right.

There are many people from all over the world who come to this country and act like they own it and bring their barbaric ways with them.

You will find much more egregious racism in Asian countries, where American students don’t get any of their top spots in their universities, than you will find in the US.

They’re bright, but their large numbers at UC are creating a problem; UC draws from a state tax base under the premise that they create an affordable way to get a GOOD degree.

If accepted, real Asian students from abroad pay FAAAAR and above what a native Californian pays, if accepted.

For this reason, it’s best for the parasitic UC (and CSU) system to suck off of a hostage populus, but then also turn around and market itself to rapidly growing Asian economies —they make big, big money this way, and their own kids are not subject to the same entrance criteria that the kids of the unwashed tax-base schmucko’s out there.

Think carefully; is Hong Kong a place with a sharp demand for Universities? Yes? Are they THERE? No, they are not there in Hong Kong, or even very much in Taiwan.

Why?

That is because the public, “University OF California” [sic] and elsewhere in the USA very neatly, very **lucratively** chose to fill that role, AND THEY ARE HAPPY TO.

The most lucrative thing for UC is to TALK public, but then ACT private —THAT is the force that is permitting inflation in higher education.

And that inflation is far, far higher than for the REAL private sector, something they relish to lambaste as “greedy”.

The hoardes of Asians at Calif Uni’s show NOTHING bad about those Asian kids —it’s just another symbol of the completely out-of-control greed of the California public sector.
