Following the UN resolution on Thursday night that paved the way for military strikes against Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi, Obama had been silent for 20 hours. While the French and British were making preparations for military action, and the Germans pondered the wisdom of their abstention, the White House preferred to wait.
That was partly because no one in Washington really knows what to make of Gadhafi's recent maneuvering. But mainly it is because Obama finds himself trapped in a dilemma: He must explain to his people why he gone from being a staunch opponent of US military action to its advocate. It would be the third current American military operation in a Muslim country, after Afghanistan and Iraq.
Some American commentators have already begun referring to the Korean War. That war, which traumatized generations of Americans, began in a similar fashion in 1950, with a UN resolution and an offer of help from the West.
From peace to war in seven days: It is enough to give people "whiplash," complained Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson on the TV channel MSNBC.

Obama is "going on vacation," mocked host Steve Doocy on the conservative Fox News network. "He's going to Rio. You've got to be kidding. He's taking his family."

This will only be dubbed Obama’s War if there is a successful resolution. Anything less will be considered Sarkozy’s War.
TWO FACTS PEOPLE ARE NOT POINTING OUT.
1. THIS COALITION IS SMALLER THAN THE COALITION PRESIDENT BUSH PUT TOGETHER TO GO AGAINST IRAQ. AND BUSH WAS LABELLED AS A ‘GO IT ALONE COWBOY’ BY THE MEDIA FOR THAT.
2. PRESIDENT BUSH SOUGHT THE APPROVAL OF CONGRESS BEFORE GOING TO WAR WITH IRAQ. SO WHEN DO YOU THINK OBAMA IS GOING TO SEEK APPROVAL FROM CONGRESS?
Remember when France supported America with Iraq?
The “fully engaged” talking point must have gone out to the MSM from Chicago last night. I heard the term several times on the Sunday morning talk shows.
They also showed a small demonstration by anti-war protesters on the local news last night in reaction to the strikes on Libya. Thus the media can give themselves cover by saying they covered the opposition to Obama’s war. The big difference is, there was NO mention of Obama!
If you can't appreciate the pure beauty of the violin after hearing this, something's wrong with your ears.
They are both our enemies. I say bomb them both.
What he has really done is assured that enough patriotic Libyans have been wiped out to assist the radical Islamic elements that survive, a better chance at running Libya post-Ghadaffi... or maybe even WITH Ghadaffi! Without Obama's dithering he would have been dead or gone a month ago.
The MSM i already spreading the story that Obama has secured a major portion of Brazil's petroleum production for the US.
This is major-league misdirection and not a little stupid. Brazil is the same size as the United States geographically speaking, and has a population rapidly reaching our own numbers. They will use their huge oil resources the same way we once used ours ... to build a powerful nation based on cheap energy.
The Brazilian government is as far-out Left-Wing as they come and a Marxist model for Barack Hussein Obama. However, the Brazilians ain't as fundamentally stupid as Obama and are not going to give away a major national asset, no matter how much of the fashionably multi-racial Brazilian posterior Obama manages to fondly osculate.
It is really too bad there is no organized opposition to Obama in this country.
