WASHINGTON (AP) - The U.S. prepared to launch a missile attack on Libyan air defenses, but American ships and aircraft stationed in and around the Mediterranean Sea did not participate in initial French air missions Saturday, according to two U.S. officials familiar with the unfolding intervention.
One official said the U.S. intends to limit its involvement - at least in the initial stages - to helping protect French and other air missions by taking out Libyan air defenses.
An attack against those defenses with Navy sea-launched Tomahawk cruise missiles was planned for later Saturday, one official said. Both officials spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of military operations.

I would have preferred iran being in the cross-hairs, instead it is Libya. Since America is now in Libya, America must win. Go America .... Win One For the Gipper!

After watching the Left abuse and lie about GWB for 8 years, the only war started by a Democrat president I'll ever support is one in direct response to an attack on the US.
Is it too early to call Zero a bloodthirsty, warmongering cowboy yet? (I mean, in addition to being a communist, a pathological liar, a usurper, and a baby-killer?)

How about war criminal for attacking a country that was no threat to us and was not engaged in hostile action against the US? How about failure to go to the US congress for authorization? How about causing these uprisings to replace self enriching despots with religious, Islamist governments who are likely to unite against the West. The new Egyptian government has already reached out to Hamas and Hamas has now openly attacked Israel. Obama is really making progress...

Let's arrest him when he tries to come back into the country....

Ya just knew it was a mistake when Michelle gave him that “Genuine Roy Rogers Cowboy Suit With Real Fringe and Two-Gun-Holsters” under the Holiday Tree last year...

Well, one theory would be that both Qaddafi and Mubarak were impediments to broad Islamist movements and plans to create a Greater Caliphate that would be an existential threat to the West.

By what authority are war actions authorized?"
Our politicians have their favorite constituents. Those constituents have their favorite countries. There's also the oil market and freight fuel for imports.
