Would it be bigoted to get nervous around a group of pit bulls that hadn’t declared their overt friendliness? You have to assess the odds until you have more info.

Streets smarts is understanding what a dangerous situation looks like, and then taking action to mitigate the perceived danger.

Liberals have NO street smarts. They won't even admit that street smarts are desirable.

Juan may be a liberal, but at least he is honset

I respect him because of that alone

I disagree with him a lot, but I don’t doiblt his sincereity

I wish he would run for office as a democrat. If we have to have democrats, I would rater they were all like Juan Williams (Although I would greatly prefer Walter Wiliams)

I remember a comedy bit from a black comedian who said he and a friend were walking down the street and a white couple hunched over their possessions and crossed the street to avoid them.

He said they were so insulted that they robbed them.

How someone can willfully walk into danger in some misguided effort to prove they are ‘enlightened’ is beyond me.

This is not bigotry, but common sense.

People are, and should be, judged by their clothing and appearance, their location, time of day, carriage, language and non-verbal behavior.

For example, ask Juan Williams the question, “What if he was on a mostly empty city street at night, and he sees a group of young black men, *who are wearing business suits and ties*, would he be intimidated by them?”

“Or how about a group of more casually dressed, but still politely looking black men in a suburban mall, standing around and talking, with bright lighting?”

Then ask him how he feels, seeing a group of young black men, dressed in “street clothes”, with accessories common among the lower classes, their language loud and peppered with ghetto talk and obscenities, and when they see Mr. Williams they get quiet, and stare at him like a pride of lions stares at a gazelle.

He would be insane to *not* imagine this merry band as a potential threat.

If young, black men who are acting and dressing like punks aren’t trying to effect nervousness, what are they doing? If they wanted to mug you without making you nervous, they would look and act better.

Racist you say? In the wrong situation, the wrong place, nervousness is a reality that would strike all but the densest among us.

But don’t worry. These things have a way of turning around. There was once a time when black men feared groups of white men, and sensibly so. Were they racist?

This lady was textbook on the moonbat taking points. From corporate welfare to big business controlling the news to tea partiers are racist to the US is a very wealthy but unjust country so we can afford all the lib priorites...and continued public funding for NPR and all her other pet lib social engineering programs will in time, no doubt undo all these evils.

Jesse Jackson said the same thing, and it was the one time, I believe, that he spoke without bias from the heart.

I personally find Juan Williams a worthwhile gentleman, and consistently candid in a similar way. I also usually disagree with his policy positions.

Cultural Marxism is the origin of Political Correctness which is used to destroy freedom of speech (and thought). It is to kill logic and reason which always will destroy the nation from within (Marxist intent). Truth and debate has to be allowed for effective societies.
