Right now the cause of the incident is unknown and officials may never figure out what happened, said Flagler County Emergency Management Chief Troy Harper.

‘officials may never figure out what happened’—
And if they did, they may never tell it. Or tell the truth about it.
Flager County is north Florida. Probably too far away from the Everglades for Mega Python to be involved. :)
Gators are found all the way to North Carolina...................
Another source overhear this on a nearby golf course:
Sandy: Carl I want you to kill all the gophers on the golf course.
Carl Spackler: Correct me if I’m wrong Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers they’ll lock me up and throw away the key.
Sandy: Not golfers, you great fool. Gophers. The little brown, furry rodents.
Carl Spackler: We can do that. We don’t even need a reason.
probably a passing car’s stereo...
I know, I was talking about the pythons in the Everglades...haven’t heard of them taking over St. Augustine. :)
I think the sub freezing weather they had down there last winter may have killed off a huge portion of the boas and pythons that have infected the Everglades. Along with all those feral iguanas.........
Florida is geologically the least likely spot in the US for an earthquake
I’m in central Florida and I can tell you the snakes have been very active this spring. Of course, the pythons haven’t invaded up here either....yet. Maybe the snakes in our region are a little more cold hardy. :)
Our snakes here in Florida usually hibernate in the cold weather. The Pythons, coming from tropical jungles and swamps never had to do that, so they don’t know how. The gators in the northern areas hibernate also. We have gators here in the Panhandle as well. Every now and then they will wind up in someone’s pool or yard. I’m from the Duval and Nassau county area, but now I live in Ft. Walton Beach...........
