Score one for the Coca-Cola Company.
Diet Coke unseated Pepsi as the second most popular carbonated soft drink in 2010, according to data from Beverage Digest.
-snip-
The switch marks a sea change in the industry. According to John Sicher, the editor and publisher of Beverage Digest, Pepsi has held the second position "for decades."
Sicher attributed the decline in Pepsi's market share to its Pepsi Refresh Project marketing campaign, which is focused on community service.

Completely agree (with the exception of Diet Dr Pepper)! I wish more restaurants would offer Coke Zero instead of the almost undrinkable Diet Coke.
However on a positive note Pepsi is switching to again using real sugar instead of corn syrup. If only Coke would follow that lead.
Thanks, so long as they’re not owned by Pepsi!
Agreed. Coke Zero is the BEST!!!
Yes, stay away from that aspartame!
Diet RC:
Ingredients: carbonated water, caramel color, phosphoric acid, potassium citrate, Sucralose (Splenda brand) a non-nutritive sweetener, citric acid, potassium benzoate (a preservative), caffeine, gum acacia, and natural flavor
Whatever you do, don't risk eating chicken with a glass of red wine, apple juice, orange juice or tomato juice. Doing so could be ten times more dangerous than consuming aspartame.
I get a reaction to aspartame - I can’t tolerate the stuff.
Same with anything ending in “tol” -malitol, sorbitol, xylitol
Eating at a restaurant can be challenging....
don’t ask me why but Coke products seem to taste better than Pepsi ones.
I have tried both and I much prefer Coke products over Pepsi.
Jack ..... alone is proper
Jack and a little water is ok
Jack and coke is blasphemy
Jack is for sipping
I tried Coke Zero once. the taste was very strange.
And the really nice thing about Dr Pepper is that is the only diet soft drink I’ve ever found that is every bit as good as the sugar version.
Diet Coke is much better than diet Pepsi.
It makes and sells dozens of other products, including Doritos-brand chips, the Tropicana juice line, and Quaker Oats cereals.
The company decided to spin off its restaurant division in 1997, for example, which made its KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell holdings into a separate company.
The company sold a dazzling range of snack foods and beverages, from Mountain Dew to Rice-a-Roni, from Captain Crunch cereal to Gatorade-brand sports drinks. It also owned the makers of Doritos-brand snacks and Aquafina bottled water.

Nooyi’s Graduation Remarks
Here is the commencement speech that set off a blogosphere bonfire
Following is the transcript of the address given by Indra Nooyi, president and CFO of PepsiCo (PEP ), at the Columbia University Business School graduation ceremonies on May 15:
This analogy of the five fingers as the five major continents leaves the long, middle finger for North America, and, in particular, the United States. As the longest of the fingers, it really stands out. The middle finger anchors every function that the hand performs and is the key to all of the fingers working together efficiently and effectively. This is a really good thing, and has given the U.S. a leg up in global business since the end of World War I.
However, if used inappropriately — just like the U.S. itself — the middle finger can convey a negative message and get us in trouble. You know what I’m talking about. In fact, I suspect you’re hoping that I’ll demonstrate what I mean. And trust me, I’m not looking for volunteers to model.
What is most crucial to my analogy of the five fingers as the five major continents, is that each of us in the U.S. — the long middle finger — must be careful that when we extend our arm in either a business or political sense, we take pains to assure we are giving a hand...not the finger. Sometimes this is very difficult. Because the U.S. — the middle finger — sticks out so much, we can send the wrong message unintentionally.
Unfortunately, I think this is how the rest of the world looks at the U.S. right now. Not as part of the hand — giving strength and purpose to the rest of the fingers — but, instead, scratching our nose and sending a far different signal.
I’ll have to try that.
***R C Cola,....And least it’s owned by the Brits now...***
Need a moon pie, QUICK!
I don’t know anything about the CEO’s politics. I hate the hideous logo and laugh “community service” ad focus is causing the marketshare decline.
Coke Zero rules!
