dra Bullock has donated $1 million to the Red Cross for Japan disaster relief, her rep confirms to Scoop. While other celebrities have made various gestures to encourage donation and raise money, this is the largest known donation made by a celebrity since the 9.0 magnitude earthquake, tsunami and nuclear crisis.
This isn't the first time that Bullock has risen to the occasion charitably. She was honored for her contributions in rebuilding a New Orleans public school after Hurricane Katrina and last year donated $1 million for earthquake victims in Haiti.
On urinal targets around here.
Yeah,I agree. I never put out press releases when I give away my millions.
God Bless her for her generosity.
Way to go Sandra, I always thought you were a sweetheart.
A Red Cross spokeslady on Bill O'Reilly's show last night claimed that only 9 cents of every dollar goes to administration.
I find this hard to believe, but that's just me. I'd like to see that audited.
I’ve never been a fan of Bullock; I’ve said more than once that I think she’s one of the most overrated actors out there. However, I don’t think she comes close to the obnoxiousness, personally, of so many Hollywood types.
Give credit where credit is due. Her money is just as green as anyone else’s, and you are not the arbiter of everyone’s soul.
I don’t see it...a word search for Christian on that page only comes up with...
“Her favorite perfume is Dune, by Christian Dior.”
Exactly. I respect libs who put their money where their mouth is instead of asking other people to donate when they themselves are rich enough to provide large financial sums.
I’m sure she quietly supports causes at home. Besides, it’s her money and she can do with it as she pleases.
Hilarious movie! Yes, she has always been one of my favorites, even when she was the annoying cop in Judge Dredd or whatever that Stallone movie was.
“...she proved she didn’t have much sense when...”
“It might even get you more publicity for your cheesy movies..”
Bullock just donated a large amount of money to a hurting people. And she’s done it several times before. She serves as a shining example to us all but especially (one hopes) to wealthy leftists: She backs her compassion up with her pocketbook.
She seems sincere, and kind, and her actions reflect that. Maybe you should ease up a little on the insults and give her the benefit of the doubt..
Getting rid of that POS Jesse James and now this? Her stock is rising, IMHO.
I suspect she would do something like this on a level appropriate to her income should she be a regular 8-5 worker like most of us.
Word is he's broke due to the lack of success of his last 2 or 3 "movies". We may need to do a FR fund raiser for him soon. (ha!)
‘I dont agree with her liberal politics’
You must have good sources, I have just spent 20 minutes googling her politics and nobody seems to have a clue. An earlier comment here was that she was Jewish, but her mother’s father worked in Hitler’s rocket program, so I doubt that.
Too bad that she sent it to the Red Cross.
First, they will see what new computers they need, then buy a bunch of business class airline seats to Japan.
Once arriving, they will puruse the big car isle at Hertz for some Land Rovers or such, gas up and go to their Ritz hotels, a few hundred miles from the action.
Once the Red Cross blows through her money, the Red Cross will be able to deliver 1000 cold Happy Meals to the stricken.
She should have given, like I did, to the Salvation Army fund!
..................... 9 cents of every dollar goes to administration..............................
Define Administration! Is that the CEO, the Assistant, and maybe the CFO, and their HQ office and autos, and perks?
Or is that everyone who is not directly giving field care?
I’ll call BS!
You may be correct. Why don’t you link to the audit?
Could be that her donation might make other celebs come forth.
She isn’t trying to buy your respect, anyway, so no big loss to her.
No one can buy my respect. It has to be earned.
She is a classy lady. Good job, Sandra!
