Upheaval in Mideast Sets Back Terror War
By JULIAN E. BARNES and ADAM ENTOUS
WASHINGTONThe U.S. has lost track of many former Guantanamo detainees who had been sent home to the Middle East and North Africa, a sign that unrest in the region is disrupting critical terror-fighting relationships America has built up since the Sept. 11 attacks, U.S. officials say.
The flow of information from Libya, Yemen and other governments in the region about the whereabouts and activities of the former Guantanamo detainees, along with other Islamists released from local prisons, has slowed or even stopped, the officials say. U.S. officials say they fear that former detainees will re-join al Qaeda and other Islamist groups.
"Could they go back to the central al Qaeda cadre in Pakistan and add to the global jihad?" asked a senior U.S. intelligence official. "Yes, they could do that. Personally I believe that our troops belong here now and not in the Middle East. Our border with Mexico is unprotected and our military is needed to protect us from the terrorists here and those on the way.
Former Pres. Eisenhower warned us. “Beware the military-industrial complex.”
“Obama pals around with terrorists” Palin
This is all by design...
Another mission accomplished by Obama.
If this is such a concern, why are they FORMER detainees?
The leftist U.S. media editors still will not rest until Obama keeps his promise to close Gitmo.
Don’t give up now: Close Guantanamo

“The United States must eventually come to terms with the fact that it has imprisoned foreign nationals for years with no immediate prospect of a fair trial. Some of these men may present a potential threat to the United States, but the world is full of terrorists who would dearly love to wreak havoc on America. We cannot lock them all up, and locking up a few of them forever without trial will create whole new generations of terrorists with good reason to hate this country.”
