Why would you want Obama involved in any of this?

QuackDaffy is saying he is ready to 'cleanse' Benghazi.

Libyan strongman Moamer Kadhafi said on Tuesday he was determined to crush the month-old rebellion against him as his army said that it would soon move against the rebel bastion of Benghazi. (AFP/Graphic)

Did the french forget that Libya is just across the Med?
One quick night raid and they could destroy most of Gaddafi’s air force.
The Black Aces would if asked, and from the other side of the earth.

Although it's quite rare for me to ever agree with anything Obama has done I think (politically) President Obama has made the right decision.

Consider the consequences if Gaddafi had to step down because of the actions of a man whom he supported, requested support from his fellow Muslims, Africans and even Arabs.

Obama probably figures a captured Gadaffi would start singing about all the financial support that was given to his campaign thanks to Gadaffi's help.

The last thing Obama wants is to wake up and look out the window of the White House only to see the US military tanks pointing their guns at him and demanding that he step outside now and face the charges.

I am Jim Thompson.

A man from a tribe in southern Libya is seen in central Tripoli March 15, 2011. Heavy bombardment by Muammar Gaddafi's warplanes and artillery forced Libyan rebels to abandon a strategic town on Tuesday, and world powers failed to agree to push for a no-fly zone. REUTERS/Chris Helgren

Now I know Libya “officially” renounced and gave up its WMD program, but I would assume they still have some chemical weapons lying around. I could see Qhadafi destroying Tripoli if he saw the end was near.

Ronald Reagan would not have allowed this to happen.
Sickening.

I am not saying someone should go in, but it shows why EU will NEVER, EVER be a world power. To do do anything they have to convince 27 states, from powerhouses like Germany to ‘countries’ like Cyprus.

Obammy and Hillary are not dumbos in regard to Libya. They know there's no will on the part of the American public to get involved in the civil war raging in that country.

In the first place, the majority of Americans don't trust the rebels (why exchange a headache for an upset stomach?)....and most folks feel the best chance for a continued flow of oil to our country is with ole Gaddafi rather than with the rag tag, erratic rebels.

Obama will come out of this looking like a genius.

To those who advocate schwacking Gaddafi:

1. What’s our national objective should we intervene in Libya?
2. So Gaddafi’s the enemy. Who is our indigenous “ally?”
3. Are we prepared to open the floodgates of a plethora of tribes shooting at each other, descending the country into total chaos, not unlike Somalia?
4. If the “no fly zone” fails to achieve its objective — a slowdown of the Libyan Army — then what? Are we ready to move units of Marines in country to engage the Libyan regulars directly?
5. With our federal budget miles deep in red ink, do we really want to slide yet further into debt for Libya?
6. Finally, and most important... Are we truly willing to put America’s troops’ lives on the line for a murky objective, with no exit strategy, with no discernible indigenous allies, with extremely restrictive ROEs, with OBAMA AS CINC?

Some things are now unreachable for us. We don’t have the numbers of troops or the power projection we once had. Time for someone else to do the heavy lifting this time.

So the liberal elite eats steak and lobster, sets up meetings and committees and makes all kinds of meaningless votes while a ruthless dictator butchers innocent people.

I guess there is something to be said for American Unilateralism eh? :)

By the time these guys figure out what to do, the fighting in Libya will be years over....

Is this the same Quadaffi that Barak pleaded with,
urged, to stand down?

Now the guy who Barak told to get out is back.
How idiotic is that?
