An uncritical one line report in Mike Allen's 'Playbook' column at Politico this morning says:
"PRESIDENT OBAMA is taping his NCAA picks today, and they’ll be revealed tomorrow on ESPN."
With our top Asian ally Japan facing an economic meltdown on top of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear plant crises--an economic meltdown that is already affecting the U.S. and global economies; with the Middle East in flames; with the U.S. government on the verge of bankruptcy; with the U.S. still involved in two wars, Barack Obama is focused on being the cool guy with the jocks in school by being filmed picking his NCAA men's basketball tournament picks.

-Incite a mob for union votes and continued campaign support

-Ignore Japan with a shout out and proclaimation ‘yeah we will help you I am heartbroken’ between golf games-after 5 days.
-Call for gun laws and not dare peep a word of how WRONG it is for WI republicans to get death threats daily.

His picks are in a sealed envelope. The envelope will arrive at the ESPN studio by Brink's armored car. It will be delivered to the sports anchor's desk by two executives of the Price Waterhouse accounting firm. The envelope will be opened on live television and the President's picks will be announced to a waiting nation by world-famous screen stars Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn.

The glorified bag handler, Reggie Love, earns more than $100K a year. It’s a safe bet he’s helping Obama with his picks.

You read my mind. I am desperately hoping he doesn’t select Duke to win it all, as I’m looking forward to their second back-to-back NCAA title (not to mention Coach K’s edging out Bobby Knight at the top of the all-time wins list). Duke has lots more to lose than any other top seeds if Obama jinxes the Blue Devils.
One day, we will be building monuments to these folks just like we did to men like Col. Parker. God Save Our American States!

I have to admit that he comes across as a parody of his (elected) race. But he's like any wanna-be populist dictator of any color - they love to swan around doing things that they think are folksy and cutesy, they're generally not very bright, and their personal lives don't bear examination.
But, like Obama, they're ruthless and they often leave it up to their even more ruthless advisors (such as Bill Ayers) to create the plan for them. It's what Ears is doing when he's not playing golf or picking his basketball favorites that really worries me!
Obama dribbles while the world burns.
By the way, you know the teams are praying Barry doesn't pick them.
I do believe that every team he picked last year....lost.

I don’t know if this reflects positively on me or not : | but I don’t remember experiencing this level of anger prior to Saturday, when it was reported that he was spending the day playing golf, and then going to the Gridiron dinner in the evening. An event he had twice declined previously - so you KNEW it was a deliberate move.
Dear Lord, the visceral hatred just welled up.

Also, Rush just said that Obama is spending the upcoming weekend in Rio de Janeiro, by the way. Sorry, I didn't hear the reason. I think Carnival is over...
