“Why should I or the N.R.A. go sit down with a group of people that have spent a lifetime trying to destroy the Second Amendment in the United States?” said Wayne LaPierre, the longtime chief executive of the National Rifle Association.

Well done, Wayne. Thank you. This ALMOST makes up for the NRA taking credit for what the 2nd Amendment Foundation accomplished in the McDonald Case.

This is small politics /diversionary BS while the world burns around him. Not to mention the fact that he would back stab the NRA the first chance he got.

Let the media cover this non-event event attended only by gun control advocates..Right up their alley relevance-wise !

I equate the whole dialog process that Obama and his minions want to gather for, to the North Koreans and their desire to get everyone to the table so they can show how much of a bully and unbending tyrant the US is...Remember the 6 party talks???

The NRA has everything to lose in talking directly with this administration, and the NRA made the right call...

I hope we only have to suffer the presense of this administration for only another couple of years...

We will be suffering for this congress and administration actions for many generations to come though...We knew that was going to be true...

I have this personal belief that when the day is over, and we are at calm, and reflect upon what we accomplished that day...

We will still have our guns, regardless of what they do or say...I believe everyone needs to make that personal committment, and be prepared to endure the consequenses of not giving them up, for any reason...Regardless of what un-Constitutional law they try to, or pass to take away our right to keep and bear arms...

They are getting desparate, so this renewed effort doesn’t surprise me one bit...

This lying bastard has no interest in the Second Amendment or public safety.

In the Middle Ages, when a local ruler was unpopular, he beat up on the Jews to raise his ratings.

Today, when a liberal official finds himself losing support among his base and the electorate in general, he beats up on the Second Amendment.

NOTHING will stop a determined lunatic from using a gun or anything else to carry out his objective. NOTHING short of a bullet would have stopped the Arizona shooter.

ALL these gun control measures EVER do is whittle away the rights of law abiding Americans to defend themselves and THAT is the ULTIMATE objective of the dictatorial, EXTRA- CONSTITUTIONAL statists like Obama. They fear an armed electorate which could oppose their plans for a force of brown-shirted state political police - Obama’s “Civilian Security Force” to take over government.

I APPLAUDE and SUPPORT the position of the NRA in refusing to meet with these lying bastards.

Good for the NRA. It would be like “dinner” sitting down with a group of cannibals to discuss the meal plan.

Yep, we should all walk unarmed into the lions' den to talk with the animals about menu-planning for healthier meals.

So does everyone notice the new moniker the gun grabbers have taken - “gun safety groups”. Sounds pretty innocuous doesn’t it. It doesn’t matter to me how they couch their rhetoric it still comes out as gun grabbers. Every few years they come out with a new title to call themselves, but they’re the same sorry people no matter what.

Agree.

Notice when a Lefty biased MSM, or actually any Lefty lays out the cards showing gun options they focus on a few choices NONE OF WHICH ARE THE 2ND AMENDMENT?

WOW, even a wimp like WLP is opposing 0bama and is not seeking sweetheart carve-outs as he tried with Reid over advertising close to elections.
I am definitely NO fan of the NRA; they have supported way too many Democrats, but at least for now, WLP has enough sense not to throw in with the worst president in history. However, we will need to watch the NRA and WLP closely; much as watch over the rinos for back-room deals.

No doubt it was to discuss the latest “common sense” gun control scheme and try to get them to get on board with it.

I wonder who it belongs to.

Good for NRA. It is beneath their dignity and intelligence to meet with organizers of community illiterates (CIs) who are barely above said level of CIs.

We should ALL make it a point, this weekend, to take ONE person to a local range and teach them to shoot/introduce them to firearms and their American RIGHT.

For the record, I am, this Sunday. And have been doing just that for several years now, getting folks interested in shooting and firearms, helping them get their CCWs, pick out the “perfect” sidearm for themselves, etc..

We should all try to do this at least once a month. Think of our numbers, multiplying - people learning about their rights, and the joy of shooting and owning fine firearms. Once you put that bug in someone’s heart, it’s not likely to be taken away too easily. Especially the youngsters, who have been brainwashed most of their lives by now - realizing that there’s NOTHING bad or evil about firearms.

We get to undo a lot of Pavlovian conditioning.

And then think of how many Libs will be kept awake at night worrying about all those “new GUN owners” (oohhh...scary) out there.

Rub their faces in it. F*** ‘em all.

Good move on the NRA’s part. Zero would use a meeting for propaganda purposes.
