So they built an Obamaville in Japan?
Believe it or not, it may be appropriate though not in the way geron means. I am concerned about the orphans and just who is going to take care of them/get to them first. Evil swoops in swiftly oftentimes.
How about a country that sanctions millions of abortions every year?
And that poor woman is going to be even further traumatized when she learns how many people have seen this picture.
I’ve been following these threads on FR ( and the great links) pretty carefully, and it’s amazing ( in a good way) that I haven’t seen ONE reference, (or a pic), to any of the classic Japanese monster movies of the 50-60’s....Godzilla, Mothra, Rodin, the Giant Claw..when Tokyo gets wiped out...
You nor the phony preacher on TV that says such n such deserves this or that and send money are not judges.
Japan’s youth (under 50 and such) are much like most western people and have never had to suffer more than minor inconveniences and when their world literally comes crashing down, they are ill equipped to deal with it mentally.
That is only in the Al Gore fake global warming Obama sucks threads. This thread is for simple prayer and compassion for another soul.
Salvation Army is the only charity I would even consider.
FRiends, there is NOTHING but God’s mercy preventing you or I from being in the same situation.
Our world could be stood on end as we know it in an instant.
Take a closer look tonight at your family, home and safe surroundings and be very thankful.
I know I will...
As usual, I’m late to the thread. What I find sad is the number of pulled posts....
Now that I look again, I think you are right.
Sad at any rate, for both of them..
Very wise and sage advice. Thank you, FRiend, and I shall do so.
Prayers for Japan.
Well said.
I think the moderator is deleting some inappropriate posts which I’m glad of, I don’t need to be angry now!
We have a niece in the Aomori Prefecture on Honshu. Her and her husband have been there for years teaching English, one on the university level, the other as a practical entry-level “conversational English” for Japanese who just wish to be conversant with Americans, Brits, etc. They are more than conversant in Japanese like a number of our FReepers. I don’t think you could pry them away even with this.
They lack power and have continuing interruptions on other utilities but apparently the Tsunami had little effect, they’re dealing with earthquake damage and are optimistic. Thanks to amazing communications they send periodic emails when things are temporarily online and running.
Thank you for those prayers, which ARE appropriate and beautifully stated and more powerful than many think.
