TOKYO, March 14 (Reuters) - Nuclear fuel rods at a quake-stricken Japanese nuclear reactor are now fully exposed, Jiji news agency said, quoting the plant's operator, Tokyo Eletcric Power Co .

It should be pointed out that apparently the earthquake was seven times worse than what the plants were designed for, and we still don’t have a major release and almost certainly won’t.
It means he’s a jackass who can’t tell a civilian nuclear accident from a global thermonuclear war.
Got the latest press summary from Toyko Electric Power to load;
http://www.tepco.co.jp/en/press/corp-com/release/11031404-e.html
You all can read for yourselves there’s no mention of fuel rods fully exposed, don’t have a clue where reuters got their information unless they confused “fully insterted” with “fully exposed”.
A Japanese radiation thingy happened! Get out your government provided suicide pills!
There is a danger in everything everyday. And has been back before the Middle Ages.
Some of us just prefer to look at facts and science. When you have a 8.9 earthquake happen; lots of nasty things will happen.
But spring will come this come this year, trees will leaf out, tulips will bloom.
And the Japanese will rebuild.
I still remember the wild conspiracy theories here during the Gulf oil spill.
Things like the dispersant makers caused it all so they could sell more products.
And that we would have a giant oil cloud falling as rain over the eastern United States.
No, you’re trying to keep things from exploding and keep steam to a minimum.
That said this isn’t just straight sea water, keep in mind they are adding boric acid as they go to help cool and neutralize things too.
Since this has never been done on this kind of scale before, it will be interesting from an emergency planning standpoint to evaluate how much was mitigated by these actions.
Radiation from the rods is hazardous to the immediate area. Long distance hazards will be created by particulates in the atmosphere that electrons can attach too. Think steam/water molecules, but that water is boron treated too. How much it will mitigate is unknown in this situation.
I continue to admire the Japanese heroic efforts to mitigate a disaster.
I just asked around in my cube regarding using seawater to cool the reactor.....water goes in, what comes out? Is it radioactive. the lib replied.....”don’t worry, it’s a big ocean.”
Is the seawater carrying radiation back out to sea?
Not to worry. Happens every day. sarc/
Your question is one that I'm sure many people are asking. But you are smart to ask it on here because you will find answers or links to answers here.
Unfortunately, the networks, including Fox, have had on so-called experts and scientists whose agenda is to deep-six nuclear power. Their reason?? They believe the US should focus on "renewables" which will make our current reliable electric grid system unreliable. If we can't use fossil fuels or nuclear power, we will end up as a third-world country. So beware of the chicken-little sky-is-falling so-called experts who will try to equate the Japanese problems with nuclear power as something that could happen in the US.
“Japanese Utility Says Fuel Rods in Reactor at Quake-Hit Nuclear Power Plant Were Fully Exposed “
Contrary to what the media has said Toyko Electric Power (the utility that operates the plants in question) has never said fuel rods were fully exposed, check for yourself here;
http://www.tepco.co.jp/en/press/corp-com/release/
The media hasn’t been quoting the utility nor http://www.nisa.meti.go.jp/english/ accurately.

i really don´t know what to say on these mugshots

Japanese govt only tells people to remain hiding in their homes and everything will be all right. And more bovine squat and more fluff and fertilizer.
Yada, yada, yada.
LOL LOL LOL !
Fuel rods are fully exposed again per Kyodo.
Water and likely some small amount of radioactivity, almost certainly. But we have not had a full core meltdown a la Chernobyl. We’re not talking about much of anything, in the grand scheme of things, as it currently stands.
Worth saying again:
“Just as with the Gulf oil spill, the devastation caused by Big Press will dwarf the actual problem.”

I'm not so sure about that, it would have blown to California first and something definitely had some sort of delayed effect in screwing up the brains of California voters.
Not good. Not good at all.
Which shows the Kenyan POTUS is helping Japan cover up a major international disaster. Thereby putting citizens of the U.S. at increased risk of radiation exposure. Which ought to be additional grounds for impeachment.
Tell all your corrupt Congress Critters -- as if they might give a rip about Bozo Barry occupying the Oval Office illegally
“So beware of the chicken-little sky-is-falling so-called experts who will try to equate the Japanese problems with nuclear power as something that could happen in the US.”
Come-on to say this can never happen to us is crazy talk. We have had close calls in the past and in accordance with Murphy’s law it will happen in the future. Nuke’s are cheap power with risk, some don’t mind taking risks while others prefer to play it safe.
