LONDON, Ont. - A dying Windsor, Ont., infant's five-month odyssey in the spotlight took a dramatic turn Sunday, when his parents accepted an offer to fly him to the U.S. against the advice of a London, Ont., hospital.

"His parents exercised their legal right to have him discharged after LHSC exhausted all its legal options in attempting to deliver Baby Joseph the best possible and most appropriate medical care," the hospital said, noting an LHSC team transported the infant to the London International Airport with his father.
The plane transfer and any U.S. care provided, "will be paid for by U.S. interests and not by LHSC," the hospital said.

Best possible care? They did everything they could to see that the baby died.

The fight heated up, with American pro-life groups lobbying for Baby Joseph's transfer. The last line in the article sums it up, very well. The fight is not about how Baby Joseph should be treated. The fight is about who is going to decide how to treat Baby Joseph.
Under Obamacare, we can expect to see the state move to make more and more of these decisions for the parents.

As a former canadian, I’m damn disgusted about this. Didn’t surprise me though. My aunt in Saskatchewan was treated worse than a leper with her condition that could have been treated with immediate surgery.

Healthcare will always be about money as there is rationing in all medical financing systems.

From the article: Joseph's plight placed him at the centre of a right-to-die battle that drew international media and medical attention, including by vocal special interests in the U.S.
The infant's family had wanted the London hospital to perform a tracheotomy, an incision in the child's breathing tube, so that they could take him home to Windsor to die. A breathing tube keeps him alive.
Doctors, backed by Ontario's medical Consent and Capacity Board, declined to perform the procedure,

I knew that Creator God would find a way. In Jesus Name we ask for a miracle for this family and for the millions in Japan who need your help. Your will be done. Amen.

I’ve been following this story here @FR and am quite puzzled by some lack of information,i.e., what information has not been released as to what hospitals turned this family down for care of the child.
Here in Burlington, VT Fletcher Allen Hospital serves many -even Canadians & there are many other hospitals here in Vermont including New Hampshire which are much closer than Missouri.
I’m praying for this child’s wellness and potential long life -it was good to hear of the private plane & transportation donation.

Would a Shriner’s Hospital take such a case?

I still don’t know what he has or what his sister had that caused her death. I’ve read so many articles and I’m still in the dark.

I could be mistaken, but I believe Shriner’s are for burns. I’m not sure what expertise they would bring to the patient.
