But while his work on climate change has put Ramesh in the international spotlight, in India his impact is most immediately evident in the castrated business deals left in his wake. In addition to dialing back the Posco project, in the last year he blocked the London-based conglomerate Vedanta from building a $1.7 billion bauxite mine, claiming it violated forest-protection laws. The mining project had become an international cause célèbre, with Amnesty International, Greenpeace, and even Avatar director James Cameron all entering the fray. Given the media hype, some accused Ramesh, who is never shy about stepping into the limelight, of trying to curry favor with the so-called Bianca Jagger set by blocking the project.

Actual Title: “Why India Might Save the Planet” though your title, “How India keeps it’s people in poverty to please environmental elites” is probably closer to the truth.
Yeah, I would be surprised to see a truthful title like that come out of Demsweek.
Well, that and massive corruption, a brutal caste system and a very socialist government (which has been getting better)...
Ping.
“How India keeps it’s people in poverty to please environmental elites”
The same way that is planned for the U.S. Transfer the wealth (investment capital) into the hands of the environmental elites.
Just another way leftists spread misery, poverty, and death throughout the world.
Shoot the leftists and be done with it. These worthless vermin aren’t worthy to breath the same air as the rest of us.
I clicked on the article because the posted title has a grammatical error in it (it’s = its). However, the posted title was not the title at all.
Search will not work if the title posted is not the exact title of the article, which apparently here is:
Why India Might Save the Planet
I know how you feel! I get annoyed when the title is really good in the search engine display, but the actual title is not so good and, by FR rules, have to use it anyway.
Anyway, good post.
It’s a good bet none of the leftist preachers of the wonders of poverty live the lives of poor third worlders.
Welcome to INDIA ,what do you think, those guys who lost their useless land growing nothing is worried ?? naa!! This is called as money laundaring and raise the useless land price higher and higher ,create more and more controversies . Everybody is involved here ,the NGOs ,the journalists etc etc to churn out more and more money from them ,setup by Rival Companies to stop Vedanta.. Those poor people are just a mask to cover their real face.. In the other hand Vedanta offered them 20K $ for every acre of useless land and also offered jobs to every eligible member of family in plant ..
with regards
An indian
it does definitively illustrate that they spread misery,
and that that is their goal.
India was in pverty long before environmentalists....but the weenies have taped into the New Age Spiritualist movement Internationally who spread their crap for them. The two work hand in glove....and filled with the ol’ Hippie style love everybody feasts spread across the web. It’s all bogus except to all those who have already been ‘brain fried’ by the educational system in place to promote this.
A family memeber was cutting old dead trees last year. Their daughter started crying that they were hurting the tress by doing so...they were astounded and learned she got this idea from her teacher at school. They were quick to instruct her otherwise.
