Earlier this AM CNN aired an exchange between a reporter stateside on the CNN set and a reporter in Japan.
The reporter in Japan was commenting on how calm and orderly everyone was while waiting in line at stores for water, food and gas.
He said that they had several full gas cans on their truck to get them where they were going and they felt comfortable leaving their vehicle unattended while going inside stores to buy food or to interview people.
He then compared it to his experiences during Katrina when their vehicle was completely looted of gas, food, water and even their personal gear and bags right under their noses.
He then said that the difference between the human response to the situation was almost night and day, the Japanese were very orderly and calm while the Katrina survivors were totally out of control.
I was amazed that CNN let him air such views. While completely truthful they show a side of our population we all know is there, but to speak of it, to even refer to it is viewed as racist...
Oh yes. . .
Oh yes. . .
The Japanese word for this is an old fashioned one, "Kannagara." Few people speak of it these days, it is from the Shinto tradition. In times like these we can actually see it.
Yep - it's easy to point to the majority of blacks (mostly inner city) when speaking of the parasite class because 90+% are Democrat and therefore much more advanced in terms of having the amoral, parasite/taker, dependency-on-government disease than other cultural groups in the U.S. Plus, they are taught about the evil groups all around them that are to blame for their ills, which has helped to greatly accelerate the disease. But, other Dem special interest groups aren't all that far behind.
I still remember a MSM report from Florida back when hurricane Andrew went through. They were interviewing some pathetic liberal white woman who was sitting on what was left of her porch in the middle of the devastation - doing NOTHING. Her quote to the media, between sobs, was "nobody has showed up to give us ANYTHING!" I immediately lost all sympathy for the woman (UNLIKE the lib reporter), and felt like smacking her instead. This is NOT the traditional American way - but sadly lack/loss of self-reliance and taking personal responsibility is becoming more and more of a problem as the takers/parasites begin to outnumber the givers/hosts and our can-do American spirit and culture continues to decay.
Johnny Littlejohn! And hey, gon’t forget Doc’s cousin, Patricia Savage! She was a babe!
“Something of Value”, one of the best books I ever read and I haven’t read it since the 50’s.
Time for a re-read.
My father died when I was 5 years old.
I grew up in a fatherless home.
Sad.
But you know your father didn’t leave under his own volition.
And all the underlying values that would allow a man to abandon his own family, are not there.
Depends on the makeup of the "public" environment involved.
That's why liberals are deemed more "engaged" and "patriotic." They can plaster their cars with stickers without incurring damage.
I learned not to try that the hard way.
“The flooding in Nashville TN was a major disaster and all you saw was people helping people. They were not waiting for the government to do anything either.”
Yep. I remember talking with my Dad about why they built all those houses on the flood plains. I remember the flood they had in 72’ I think it was, when the Cumberland took out the warehouses in East Nashville.
Yeah how did I forget especially Pat, you know I still have those paperbacks boxed up some where. I am going to have to dig them out and read them all again I only like about two books having the whole series.
How about the trains? You neglected to mention train behavior during rush hour.
??
Amen!
Looks like a line at a U.S. Post Office.
Amen. It is an outstanding book. Movie wasn’t too bad either, but I doubt many have seen it.
It never ceases to amaze me what the human species refuses to learn. Or, how many people have to die as the result of repeated mistakes and the denial of reality.
I dont get your point." - rtbwood
Relax, we are on the same page... I agree with everything that you just stated.
My post was making reference to the "great, great, great grandmothers" that would have been slaves... Consider the high rates of promiscuity of our subject matter, and the fact that their generations do not have, on average, as much age separation as you might find in a society that follows self control and self-reliance. My point was that most of their great, great, great grandmothers would have been around in the 1950's, not the 1860's. Hence the reason that I put in a ";-)" for you at the end of the post...

It's a crush. But very orderly. No stampedes or fights, EVER. That would be embarrassing and embarrassment in JPN is avoided at all costs.
Reminds me of driving in China. Looks like total chaos but some how it works.
