Amazing!...and sad there aren’t more stories like this - hopefully there are and we just aren’t reading/seeing them.

“how many others?”

Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? I mean even a handful is great news. I hope this man is okay and prayers for him.

He “went back to get his belongings” which, hopefully means his family and neighbors made it. He has had remarkable luck.

I went overboard once and was in the water for about 45 minutes, until someone noticed and the skipper retraced the course. It is a feeling I don't want to experience again, for sure.

It doesn't take long before you start "feeling" things bumping your feet!

Seeing that little snapper boat coming back into sight was the prettiest thing I've ever seen. Your head isn't very visible in the middle of the ocean, it took prayers, good navigation and a lot of luck to find me.

I shouldn’t post before reading completely. He lost his wife so his luck is questionable. The decision to go back will haunt him.

His wife, with whom he had returned home as the tsunami approached, is still missing.

Prayers for his wife and the thousands of others.

So, was whatever it was they went back into the house for worth the price they paid? At 65, one would think he'd have known better. Rule #1 - never, ever go back in for anything unless it's a child. Rule #2 - see #1. Things are replaceable, people are not.

Here is AOL News report on the same topic. It has the advantage of including 500 photos of the quake story.
