How about these? Yeah they are from just one person, but, that’s all it takes to hurt a site.

Japanese by nature understate the situation.
If this is what they are publicly saying, it is worse.
So they also lie to their people to make things appear better than they are. Ok, got that. Another reason not to send donations.

The Japanese people are incredibly dignified, respectful and polite.
Yes, the Japanese conducted a treacherous, but DIGNIFIED, sneak attack on America. They conducted atrocious, but RESPECTFUL, experiments on live captives. And of course the rape of Nankin was done in a violent, but POLITE, way...
Now would you like me to dwell on the other 950 years?

And if you wait until the end you will see that appears to be a massive covering of an area by the Tsunami turns out to be an encroachment of about a mile by a mile along a lowland. Not saying some people didnt find themselves in the middle of it, but the city was very vacant of citizens already.
The furthest the Tsunami encroached was 6 miles and that is in the lowlands. You do know 99.9% of Japan was NOT flooded or damaged, right?

It appears that Japan can’t catch a break, more prayers are up.
Just horrible. Almost wish you didn’t show me that. Sounds like a certifiable nut.
Good Lord...those poor people...
I didn't realize they were working there.
One the very few charities I contribute to. Just got a request from them.
Time to pony up again.
If that's the incident I'm thinking of a man and his son rode it out in a small boat. The wave was 1000 (?) ft. high. Measured by the scarified surrounding coastline.
Is that the one ? My memory correct?
I remember an 8mm film taken aboard a Polish ship in the harbor at the time.
Not sure exactly which harbor. Valdez, Anchorage.
A crack opened next to the ship and the bay simply drained into the crack.
A seaman on the ship caught it on film.
Incredible !
Yes, TLR, fairly hardened in place here in Kanto, and humbly ready for most any scenario, including nuke-although that is remote, God willing. Fully stocked. :-) lots of good books to catch up on.
Good to hear that.
best to ignore people who think like that at at time like this. my assessment? they are mentally disturbed and need to be forgiven and prayed for and ignored.
You must be a really sound sleeper.......
Where is Godzilla?
That makes sense. Or trigger other earthquakes.
Yep. Thanks for asking. Some minor property damage, but this 45 year old apartment building held up fine. Sure scared the hell out of me, though.
One bad piece of news in the family. We got a look at the coastline near Sendai where my wife’s grandma lived. Her house is gone, the whole town is. No actual word either way though.
Yes, the Salvation Army is active in Japan. They have a nice building in Jimbocho on Hakusan-dori, if memory serves. I stopped by that building just after the World Trade Center attack to make a contribution for the Salvation Army's efforts in New York City.

I won't say it's impossible that this current eruption is related to the earthquake, but it needs to be pointed out that this volcano began erupting in January, and that a month or so of silence in an eruption cycle is really nothing, and lastly that it is at a considerable distance from the where the earthquake occurred. I would guess myself that these events are unrelated.
If you are talking about the 1000+ foot wave in Lituya Bay, that was in 1958, not the 1964 quake.
