Texas: Eleven-Year-Old Gang Rape Victim Blamed for Crime (Them boys didn't rape her)

At a Thursday night meeting to discuss concerns about a gang rape investigation has degraded into allegations that the eleven-year-old victim is to blame.

Many who attended the meeting in Cleveland, Texas support the group of men charged with the crime.

More than 130 people attended the meeting led by Quanell X, a Houston activist in the black community, who insisted that his goal was not to "jump on an 11-year-old girl" but to question the police investigation.

His concern centered around the fact that only young black men were arrested, and although he believes some charged are guilty, others are not.

After the meeting, Fox News reports that many people believe she had sex with the boys, but was not raped. They mentioned her manner of dress, and said she "must have lied about her age."

Angie Woods, who grew up in Cleveland, doubts the claim also, saying she lied about her age. "Them boys didn't rape her. She wanted this to happen. I'm not taking nobody's side, but if she hadn't put herself in that predicament, this would have never happened."

Well, let’s not jump the gun: let’s see what Whoopi has to say first. It could be that we’re all looking at this the wrong way, you know. It could be that these boys were trying to teach the girl the facts of life in a well-meaning, but misguided way.

I feel very sorry for the family of this person. It’s doubtful his family reared him to be like this; I know my folks didn’t raise my sister to be the irresponsible sack of crap she turned out to be.

There are several levels to this that indicate how sick society has become:
1. That man would take part in a "gang bang", regardless of the victim's age is abhorrent.
2. That any man would have sex with a girl obviously below the age of consent indicates a total ingnorance or flagrant disregard of the law and of civil society.
3. That anyone would be be driven by his base instincts to do so is deserving of no other label than "animal".
4. That such an individual who would do this somehow feels secure that the chance of getting caught is remote because this kind of thing takes place all the time in their society.
5. That no one else in his circle of acquaintances and perhaps wider society would not identify him as having taken part indicates the level of depravity of the community at large that would in any way tolerate this and shows an "us vs them" attitude about decency and law and order.
6. That such a person, who, even if identified and charged in this horrific crime would feel secure that a charge of racism would minimize the impact and that there are people in his community who would be willing to level such a charge.
7. That even if charged, tried and convicted of statutory rape (and conspiracy, I would wager), such a person is comforted that he will only be serving a minimal sentence (given the laxness of our laws, the tolerance for rape in our society and the overcrowded state of our prisons) in a facility filled with his friends and acquaintances and the conditions in the prison are no worse (perhaps even better) than life in the community.
8. That Hollywood actors and writers continue to laud human scum and cowards like Roman Polanski, who raped a 13 year-old girl and continues to work and live in freedom and prosperity is an indicator about how sick the liberal sector of society has become.

Bottom line is people do these things because they have no morals and believe they can get away with it and we have to ask why this is so on both counts.

These men will be let off. Not a single one of them will go to jail. They will be sure to get enough blacks on the jury who see these things only in racial terms and they would no convict another black.
