Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) got some headlines for breaking down in tears during the Homeland Security Committee hearing on Thursday, but another witness, Abdirizak Bihi, Director of the Somali Education and Social Advocacy Center in Minneapolis, offered something more newsworthy—an indictment of Ellison himself.
Although he didn’t identify Ellison by name, Bihi’s criticism of local leaders, religious and political, was seen as partly a reference to Ellison being an obstacle to finding out what happened to 20 Somali young people who had disappeared from Ellison’s congressional district and showed up in Somalia as terrorists.
No wonder Ellison had called the hearing a “witch-hunt.” He was the witch.
As noted in advance by the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, “Bihi has been publicly critical of Ellison’s handling of the disappearance of some 20 Somali youths recruited by a Jihadist group in their native country.” Bihi’s nephew Burhan Hassan was killed in Somalia after traveling there to join Al-Shabbab, a terrorist organization working to overthrow the Somali government.
But it wasn’t just Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress. The Star-Tribune previously reported that Bihi had “accused the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) Minnesota chapter of discouraging local Somalis from cooperating with the FBI” in trying to find out what happened.
The FBI had cited CAIR’s links to terrorist groups. But Ellison has worked with CAIR and has spoken at their events.

Those maudlin tears proved that Ellison is more loyal to Islam than to the USA. He should be recalled immediately, but the people of MN elected this radical Muslim and a well-known clown to represent them, so anything goes in that political wasteland.

Islam is not a religion: it is a political movement with the objective of overthrowing other countries and replacing their law with its own.
Therefore, it should not be afforded the protections of a religion that attempts to grow by convincing others of the validity of its teachings.

He has more sympathies for the Muslims - somalians in Minnesota want everything geared towards their beliefs and values.

"The attack occurred last October in northern Somalia, but it appears that this individual was radicalized in his hometown in Minnesota."
Ellison used rhetoric and political correctness to keep from being held accountable to his lack of help.
Ellison has made two trips to Mecca over the past two years, trips that were paid for by the Muslim Brotherhood.
Why hasn’t the press asked Ellison if his ties to this terrorist organization is the real reason he’s trying to derail these hearings with an irrelevant anecdote about a muslim firefghter?
Last fall, Ellison berated a Muslim critic of Islamist organizations such as CAIR and MAS. Rather than taking on specific criticisms made by American Islamic Forum for Democracy founder Zuhdi Jasser, Ellison accused him of fomenting bigotry against his own people.
"I think people who want to engage in nothing less than Muslim-hating really love you a lot because you give them freedom to do that. You say, 'yeah, go get after them.'"
There were suspicions here and on other sites that ellison was a muslim mole when he went to the House. The media jumped way ahead of that and made the blanket statement that ANYone who suggested this was racist.
Hmmm.

Recalled by the liberal bastion that is Minneapolis? No chance of that happening.
The good news: Minnesota boasts the redoubtable Michele Bachmann, whose voice and influence drown out Johnny-One-Note Ellison. (And Democrat Collin Peterson in the Minnesota 7th has a 100 percent rating from National Right to Life.)
The best news: Chip Cravaack occupies Jim Oberstar's 8th District seat, which had been Democrat since the 1940s.
Rep. King was there on their behalf.
