What can I say? You are engaged in fortune-telling, of a particularly vile kind that rejoices in harm to one's neighbor, since their suffering is our "signpost." What can I say about a view of the future that willingly and deliberately surrenders it to Satan's team? That willingly and deliberately hands over "the earth, and the fullness thereof" to the enemies of God and man?
Maybe your god plans to grease the skids for the global triumph of evil. The God of the Bible equips His people with "all power in heaven and on earth" to storm the gates of Hell, and to "win for the Lamb the reward of His suffering," the world that God so loved.
What can I say? I'm probably wasting my time, trying to talk Christian faith, hope, and love to one who is committed to personal and global failure, impotence, and futility.
A very viable and sustainable view of what the tribulation in the Book of Revelation is all about is analogous to what the Book of Joshua is all about: possessing the land. In Joshua, Israel went in to disinherit the enemy and possess that which God had give to Israel. In Revelation, God Himself is dispossessing the earth of His enemies (including Babylon, etc.) and taking possession of it as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Man has not, can not, and will not do this. God Himself will do this in His time.
In the meantime, we are engaged in the same effort but on a much smaller scale - redeeming the time and souls as God gives us grace to do so.
AMEN! I believe that 100%. The Gospel does not fail in this life. The Gospel triumphs.
A corollary to this fact is that Christ told us to be "wise as serpents" for we are in the midst of wolves whose hearts are filled with deceit and evil intent.
The redeemed are more blessed than they can ever know in this life, while the reprobates are so much worse than anyone can imagine. There are men who truly love death. And most people, being raised according to a simplistic and fallacious free will Arminianism, can't wrap their mind around that fact. Instead they believe everyone is basically good and their motives obvious.
Nothing is further from the truth.
As Christ warned us, some men "loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."
They don't just "like" the darkness. They "love" it.
From my perspective, life is a 3-D adventure tale filled with twists, turns, subplots, intrigue, joy, frustration, fear, assurance and an inevitable and triumphant happy ending.
It's all God's world, for His glory. What will be, will be. And within the sovereign will and purpose of God is the protection and redemption of Christ's sheep.
Certainly worth the price of the ticket, paid for in full by Christ alone.
Thanks for such a
THOROUGHLY UNMITIGATEDLY WRONG POST
YET AGAIN.
It helps to classify y’all’s perspective.
Great points.
Thanks.
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds." -- Hebrews 1:1-2"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Here's a great article by an OPC pastor...
Your Biblical points do not wash away the horrific dastardly outrageous UNBiblical falsehoods of the post responded to.
Folks holding to that perspective are cautioned that such a perspective will increasingly be OUTSIDE THE CAMP
of God’s Spirit, Will and Life.
Anyone saying that prophecy and tongues are not operant today in this end of the New Testament Church Era
IS GROSSLY UNBIBLICAL and against Holy Spirit doing what HE AND CHRIST SAID HE WOULD DO . . .
See Joel, Mark & I Cor 12-14.
Read the link I posted. It’s very comprehensive.
Lord, help us in our "earnestly contending for the faith which was once delivered to the saints" (Jude 3) that we "endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." We need to stay in the spirit and not in the flesh especially in times like these. It takes God's power and wisdom to do so.
God Bless.
Right, but Scripture without the Spirit kills (2 Cor 3:6).
Define sin, please.
Certainly. Scripture is the sword of the Holy Spirit who leads our understanding of His word.
Disobedience to God.
How many times would you like me to go backwards and forwards over those links?
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
THX THX.
THIS IS GOD’S ORDER FOR NEW TESTAMENT BELIEVERS:
FORBID NOT TO PROPHECY.
SEEK THE BEST GIFTS—TO PROPHECY.
Actually, knowing how bright you are,
it boggles my mind that you’d fall for that pile of nonsense.
Amen brother.
