Mrs. Obama was gaining a lot of traction as the fashion icon for the everywoman when all of a sudden she stepped out of the Michellemobile – reportedly Monday – grasping a $1,000 tote bag.

Looks like one of those reusable shopping bags you can buy at the supermarket - it’s green and everything....looks leak-proof too - good for chicken.

$1,000 for a bring your own grocery bag?
I'm still using a black Wilson leather bag I picked up at one of Frencie's (thrift) in Nova Scotia 6 years ago for $4.00...
I only use my $1 grocery totes when I'm shopping for groceries.
But I'm glad she's cutting back -
I suspicion spending only a thousand on a handbag is a sacrifice to her...

Love the comments—one “michelle fan” rants about the purse and the 15-car motorcade for the dear leader and moOchelle to go to parent-teacher conferences earler this week...slowing down traffic making people late for work. FIFTEEN-CAR MOTORCADE IN DC?!?! No wonder there is an oil shortage.

That bag and those shoes...oy! Is she color blind? The jacket is cute however.
While I don’t think our ...gads...I hate to call her this....FLOTUS should run around in rags I just can’t shake the feeling that these two are like any other African dictators who plunder their country but don’t care because they are living the high life. Same old story but new to the US. I wonder if stories will leak out from the WH staff someday about how insufferable mr and mrs zero are.
