The TSA and big Sis is at it again, endangering citizens to "save" them!

Yet another reason to support General Aviation charter services. You might pay a little more, but the benefits are numerous.

We let terrorists into the nation, then alter our aircraft and airport policies to accommodate them, not us. It’s important that our government keep their business, not ours.

I’ve sworn off flying. As long as we live in a police state, no thanks.

I used to count myself lucky I wasn’t born in the Eastern Block. And now the Eastern Block policies are here too.

How about an immigration freeze fellas? How about a review of who we already have here? How about sending some Imams packing? How about drop kicking some of the people, who stand up in the middle of aircraft and terrorize the other passengers by singing praises to Allah, over the nearest border.

Color me one citizen who is growing sick of this.

There is a very important health consideration for keeping oxygen masks in lavatories ... as anybody who has ever flown with a redneck knows all too well!

Couldn’t have said it better.

Yeah but as a trade-off, the good news is that the blue stuff in the toilets will now be blueberry flavored, and can be used as a refreshing beverage in case of emergency dehydration.

I think they should take it one step further. Terrorists could lock themselves in the bathroom and build a bomb out of stuff from their carry on luggage.

I say they make bathrooms so that when the door closes, the bathroom is automatically depressurized. Now you can’t stay in there long enough to build a bomb.

better yet, lets remove the doors from the bathrooms.

hahahaha

even better, lets remove the bathrooms all together.

hahahaha

what about the other oxygen canisters? They should do away with all oxygen on airplanes. And make seatbelts lock up electronically so you can’t undo them until you land.

hahahaha

Will the TSA will let us carry on empty jars?

We can always use the barf bags for our solid waste, but we will have to use the aisle next to our seats. It would be too hard to squat on those teensy seats they give us.

This is idiocy. At 35,000 humans have just a few seconds of useful consciousness in the event of decompression. Some airliners fly as high as 51,000 (Boeing 747 SP), where your concious time would be less than 8 seconds.

There is not enough time to get your pants and be out of the can, let alone get pantyhose up, and out to a mask before you are KOed.

Fix is simple. Move the canister to a secure location a few feet away, run 6 feet of extra plastic tubing to the mask, and everyone is fine.

So what? With all the terrible germs and odours they harbour, “aeroplane lavatories” are ALREADY hazardous to one’s health. One dare not frequent them.

(At least, nasty aeroplan WC’s are common in the USA. Maybe Jolly Old England keeps ‘em more sanitary?)

So its pretty much guaranteed we’ll see deaths from this the next time a plane loses pressure. Lavatories are occupied quite a bit of the time, especially when the plane is at altitude.

The criticism might be a tad overblown, maybe.

First, under most circumstances, flight attendants will have some advance notice so they can round up people in the lav. But in case they don’t it’s usually because everybody is fixin’ to die anyway.

OK, I exaggerate a little bit.

IIRC above 35,000’ you have to be on PRESSURE breathing. 100% oxygen at ambient pressure is less than the partial pressure of O2 in your blood, so you die of asphyxia anyway.

Isn’t it standard procedure to go into an emergency descent when pressure is lost? An airliner can get down to 14,000 feet very quickly.

Aren’t the canisters located in an area that is not generally accessible to passengers? I mean you would need special aircraft mechanic’s tools to reach them (which were supposed to have been confiscated at the TSA checkpoint anyway right?) You probably couldn’t accomplish this without making quite a bit of noise, and it would probably take longer then the usual time to have a BM. Why can’t the flight attendants be trained to just be friggin’ ALERT?

“Effing Gmvt.”

YOU SAID IT!!!:)

Do what?

Sudden decompression is called sudden decompression for a reason.

So why bother with emergency oxygen for the passengers at all?
