Yep, let's stick our heads in the sand, bitch about how we've lost textile mills and other jobs, but not "export" the surplus power we ourselves don't need. Instead, let's just let that power go to waste. Good thinking, you chlorophyl-brained idiot.

Don't know much about this story but this sentence made sense:

....there is an existing Quebec Hydro corridor down through northeastern Vermont, and the powers that be should be forced to simply acquire additional wider right of way there to accommodate the additional line.

The lines are there and would most likely be far more cost effective to expand them - the infrastructure is in place already.....(don't like the 'forced' thing being thrown around)
