Sarah Palin talks a lot about the tea party.
On Fox News last week, she said, "I find inspiration in tea party patriots [and] those with common sense who aren't playing a lot of games."
She could be considered the tea party's godmother. With her Sarah PAC and support for 2010 tea party candidates, Palin has generated a lot of good will, not to mention publicity, for a movement that began only two years ago. She also isn't afraid to attack popular Republicans such as New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
Further proof that Palin isn't always a GOP team player: She is skipping the first GOP primary debate on May 2 to give a keynote address, "Tribute to the Troops with Sarah Palin," at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colo. Some take this as a sure sign, along with her tanking poll numbers in key places like Iowa, that Palin will not seek the White House in 2012.
Could Palin, ever the rogue, be concocting a different plan?
What if Palin is building a grassroots army of patriots to help her undertake this mission? Palin, unlike any failed vice presidential candidate before her, has taken an opportunity and spun it into a gold mine. But to remain relevant in a crowded 2012 field of attention-seeking veteran politicians, Palin may have to make an unconventional move.

Lars Larson asked Sarah Palin in 2009 if she would run as a third party candidate. Her answer:
“That depends on how things go in the next couple of years... Some liberal Republicans have screwed up — and the base of our party’s common sense conservatives, not obsessively partisan, but just wanting common sense free market principles, strong military principles to be implemented to get our country on the right track — and if the Republican Party gets back to that base, I think our party will become stronger, and there’s not going to be a need for a third party...”

Maybe she could run with Ross Perot and throw another election.
I like Sarah but if she ran third party, politically, I would never forgive her. If she can’t take the republican primary, she can’t take the presidency and she would become only a spoiler.
Ralph Nader, Independent Party
Bob Barr, Libertarian Party
Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party
Cynthia McKinney, Green Party.
Put in perspective, McKinney garnered 161,603 votes. Keyes fell even below this number.
On results charts the AIP is relegated amongst those in the category of "Other", which clearly demonstrates how irrelevant they are. (Despite being the "third-largest party in America")
I think Sarah wants to put her ideas and her ability to express them against those of other presidential aspirants. That will require that she enter the race and I think she will. Even if she doesn’t emerge as the nominee she and her supporters will be a powerful force. She’s not a fraidy cat. She’s said about earlier challenges, “If I die then I die”.
Did you mean Bork Ovomit?
“I can say without a doubt that she could never win our partys nomination. Not nearly conservative enough.”
pfffftttttttttttttt, sorry but you just caused me to spit out my coffee on the computer screen because I laughed so hard.
gop “TEAM PLAYERS” have enabled the destruction of this once great nation.
LLS
Regrettably, that would most likely doom us to four more years of attempted destruction under Obama. There’s no way the Repub establishment is going to back off, and a split vote would ensure a RAT victory.
If that happens, I'll need more range time.
If Sarah ran as a independent, wouldn`t that probably mean she ran in the primary and lost, so sounds very very doubtful, lets just pray she runs as a Republican.
And quite frankly, if the GOP sabotages her campaign, then Im finished with the Republican Party, period. Ill write her name on the ballot in 2012, and then go independent, voting for individual candidates as I see fit.
And the GOP can then go to hell.

I am there. See my tagline. The typical Republican apparatchik does NOT represent me. The ‘kinder-gentler-compassionate’ types are fools at best, but most likely Quislings, IMO. Never again.
"And quite frankly, if the GOP sabotages her campaign again, then Im finished with the Republican Party, period."
There, fixed it.
And the GOP can then go to hell.
Beat ya too, it VA Ridge! Please see tagline.
Palin aside, the party's beltway-based "establishment" has done nothing since then to justify my further membership, and if it engages in more skullduggery to torpedo her and a potential candidacy, then I'm outta there for good.

Preach it.
Would Ronald Reagan run third party? Gee, that was easy!
“If that happens, I’ll need more range time.”
I’m a little confused. Guys at every place that sells ammunition around here say that it’s flying off the shelves, but when I ask if people are stockpiling, they all say no, people are just doing more target shooting.
I want a reality check.
Palin responds to the repeated jabs from Christie, and all of sudden the rinocrats are wailing about how the big baddie Palin beat up on the huggable teddy bear Christie without any reason.
Only she won't announce it until three consecutive polls show how disgusted everybody is with the choice between "Obama" and some RINO.
