Bad part is, I have the album. :-(
For younger FReepers, an "album" is a cardboard contrivance that contained a largish disk we used to call a "Record" way before MP3's. Sort of like a big black CD with a little bitty hole. The album cover was commonly used for...uh...origami, yeah, that's it. We'd roll this little paper cylinders. Great fun. See, we'd have to bounce the stuff we were rolling because it had seeds in it.
Never mind. It's nothin' but Grandpa's tall tales.

How could I overlook that 1980s country classic, “Smoky Mountain Rain” by Ronnie Milsap?

Your Gordon Lightfoot reference reminded me that “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” should really be considered THE best song about stormy weather of all time. Haunting tune, great lyrics, and all that.
