In a land of rule with law and order, rabble protesters would be met at the capitol like this:

I thought a judge had banned protesters from the Capitol after hours. Is the another case of union law enforcement sitting on their hands in solidarity with the protesters?

Republicans legislate. Democrats protest.

Howard Fineman on MSNBC saying this is a conspiracy among Republican strategists to provoke a violent, Sixties style reaction by students, unions, and liberals in Madison.

Fineman names Haley Barbour, the Koch Brothers, Karl Rove and others as part of the conspiracy.

Fineman says the Republicans want to get Obama involved to defend unions and paint the Democrats as extremists. He warns liberals to not take the bait.

Um, it’s after hours. The capital building needs to be closed, like a sane society demands. The protesters can spend the night on the streets.

From the Journal Sentinel:

Madison — Demonstrators crowded the Capitol in a wild scene after senators passed a budget-repair bill in a hastily called meeting Wednesday night that outraged protesters and Democratic legislators.

The protesters yelled, "You lied to Wisconsin," and "Kill the Bill," as they pressed close to the doors of the Senate chamber.

As senators debated the legislation, a crowd of hundreds whistled loudly and roared their disapproval.

Tim Donovan, a spokesman for the Department of Administration, said that protesters were supposed to remain on the ground floor of the Capitol, but police allowed them to move to the upper floors.

I was watching the Fox Report (7-8 est) when the Wisconsin news broke. I -had- to turn over to watch MSNBC.

I was laughing out loud at the “pandalerium”

Apoplexy was the man of the hour, and the Min Leader was saying the meeting prior to the vote was illegal, the implication being the subsequent vote was also illegal. What he wouldn’t say was that it did not matter. Present or absent, public or private the result is the same. This entire action would not have been necessary had they been dealing with ADULTS.

That aside, why it was so difficult to sell the abolition of most of the collective bargaining for the public sector employees unions against the taxpayers, I still do not understand.

Honestly, these people act as if not having a union is the same as slavery. They really need to to take a good look at the state and federal regulations that protect workers. In fact: They do so in such a way, there is NO need for PUBLIC sector unions what-so-ever.

Mark that as one for the taxpayers.

Media slant...

Democrat Policy: gifted, enlightened, sound, reasoned, brilliant, makes sense, ‘for the people’, on and on it goes

Republican Policy: challenged, dismal, risky, not reasoned, stupid, senseless, ‘for the rich’, on and on it goes

I’m so sick of these media templates.
