In 18-1 vote, Wis. Senate approves bill to strip public employees of collective bargaining rights
Score another victory for common sense and rationality
I’m sure that all the rigged polls showing the un-popularity were completely ignored by those who were ELECTED to do a job (those who didn’t flee the State, and avoid doing their PAID duty).
I sincerely think Gov. Walker wanted the Dem's there to vote on this.
But, like the rest of us, enough is enough ... too much time has passed.
You snooze, you lose.
And in this case it's not just snoozing, it's partying it up out-of-state, using your state-issued credit card on stuff like hotel rooms, high-priced food at exquisite restaurants, gasoline, etc.
The raping of the taxpayers had to stop at some point.
Yes! What are they gonna do now? Stay out of town because of the stuff they already conceded? Great move!
Well hell, then its a bi-partisan bill.
Think this through. They needed to give the Dems ample time to come back or else they’d be accused of railroading it through. This way they have the moral high ground with normal, thinking, commonsense people. With the Dim-ideologues they’ll never have moral standing. But it’s important to do things so that the broad middle sees the commonsense decency in it.

THATS A LINK !
Usually, the GOP first has someone brag to the press about their tough-guy plans, and then that gives the 'rats time to plan a counter strategy. I've seen it time and time again.
They could have done it sooner but this is how it ended up being played out.
I can see the union thugs and vegans trying to camp out in there again. They just spent millions scraping the liberal feces off of the marble tile from the last fiasco.
David Asman is on Fox Report so we don’t even get to see Shep cry. Darn it!
Yes, it will. Unfortunately, this may well be struck down as a violation of Wisconsin’s open meetings law. Wisconsin Statute requires that public notice of a government meeting (including a legislative committee meeting) be given at least twenty-four hours in advance of the meeting, unless for good cause such notice is impossible or impractical. Section 19.97(3) provides that a court may void any action taken at a meeting held in violation of the open meetings law if the court finds that the interest in enforcing the law outweighs any interest in maintaining the validity of the action.
Given how long this has gone on (with nothing really happening other than the protests), it will be hard to argue that there was “good cause” to hold this meeting without 24 hours notice, or that it was impossible or impractical to do so.
I don’t understand why they didn’t just schedule the meeting 24 hours in advance - they would’ve still had the votes to do what they did.
The governor’s releasing he emails proving the Republicans were trying to negotiate in faith further exposed the Rats as the liars they are.
Its a bi-partisan bill! One republican voted no.
Then the Senators from the Party of No-Show will have to stay away until the courts decide the case (and all the appeals).
As soon as they return, the Republicans will have their quorum and enough votes to pass the original bill. They can repeal any questionable items in the current bill and just do what they wanted in the first place.
It's good to have an overwhelming majority.
Not a bad day. Now if only the Repubs in Washington can do the same.
Maybe they took a play out of the ‘Rats’ own playbook — unleash the lawyers, find a loophole and go for it. In other words, did the Republicans know three weeks ago or just recently that taking out the financials would allow them to vote immediately on the collective bargaining?
But really, I am lmao at the vacationing Dems!
Yippee!!!!
Wonder what "nearly" means? Would like to read the bill.
