Because she was probably guilty of reckless endangerment. Absent other facts, I'm going to trust the judgment of the adult on the scene.

The word of what adult on the scene?
The father who beat her up?
The guy with so little self-control that he'd yell at and punch a 14 year old GIRL?
Sorry, he's disqualified himself from legitimately wearing the label of *adult* from here on in by his actions.
The ski instructor who pulled the Decatur man off the girl told deputies Filler punched her "at least four times, using a closed fist," sheriff's Lt. Mike McWilliam told the AJC. Two other witnesses said they observed Filler yell at the girl before landing two or three punches, the sheriff's office spokesman said.
I'd trust the other adults who witnessed this over this 41 year old moron any day. I don't trust anyone who would beat up a girl until forcibly removed to not lie to cover his butt.
The number of misogynists slinking around FR is disgusting.
The "adult" is not to be trusted if he can't control his emotions. Beating a 14 y.o. for a minor dustup on a ski run does not describe an "adult", it describes a selfish, uncontrollable, bully.
There are many activities that are inherently dangerous with obvious risks involved, skiing is one of them. By all appearances, it appears the "adult" on scene is incapable of understanding that.
There is nothing in this story to indicate that the girl was "guilty of reckless endangerment", that is pure speculation and is not supported by the article.
If this thug was beating my son, the ski patrol would have been removing a corpse.
You mean the one who had the "good" judgment to get revenge for a perceived injury (which later proved to be nonexistent), by repeatedly punching a little girl in the face? That adult?
