WASHINGTON (AP) - A month shy of his election in 2008, presidential candidate Barack Obama outlined a doctrine for American military force that included crises in which the United States has a "moral obligation" to intervene. As commander in chief, he soon will have to decide whether Libya fits the bill.

Obama is facing the sternest test yet of his philosophy of humanitarian intervention, which he has described as an imperative to prevent atrocities against civilians.

Obams Doctrine? At first, I thought this was from The Onion.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates is abroad, but a top Pentagon official will attend in his place.

Given this is a military decision why have the Defence Secetary there? This admin is making Jimmy Carter look good.

They have already pulled resources from the Persian Gulf to stand off Libya. While they are there Iran will kick up some dust. Then what?...........

Kooks are desperate to get good men killed in a place that is none of our business. Wonder why, are they running some kind of illegal diamond clearing house.

It’s obscene to mention Obama and the military.
Do that again and I will report you to the moderator.
(Unless we are planning a public ceremony.)

Hillary in the article
“We think its important that the United Nations make the decision - not the United States,” Clinton told Britain’s Sky News.

Here is Obama in his Second Presidential Debate in October 2008
“When genocide is happening, when ethnic cleansing is happening around the world and we stand idly by, that diminisihes us.”

here is Obama in response to the Darfur, Sudan issue.
We could be providing logistical support, setting up a no fly zone at relatively little cos to us. But we can only do it if we can mobilize the International Community and lead. And that’s what I intend to do when I’m president.

Obama will lead the international community -
Chicago Olympics.
Egypt
Plus the number of Summits he has attended and has strived to lead (should be taken the limelight - focus on me)

ALL FAILURES IN LEADERSHIP Obama is not a leader.

Latest from “The One” is that we intervene ONLY if the UN or NATO approves. And even then I don’t think he has the stones to actually do it.

This is Clinton and Rwanda all over again.

Will Obama “The Great Thinker” be able to rationalize it when Americans rebel against his unconstitutional, gangster administration and some foreign powers decide they have a “moral obligation” to intervene militarily on the side of the rebels?

Zer0 in so far over his head he has no idea what to do.

I’ll bet when his advisers bring up a problem he covers his ears with his hands (thank goodness he has big hands) and sings.. La-LA-LA....

These Libya, ME revolutions are going to be Iran ‘79 all over again, but waaay more serious.

What a pathetic mess the US military has become: and it started and has continued unabated since long before Obama.

None deployed against the invasion from Mexico.

Wasted lives and fortunes in hopelessly timid “conflicts,” “policing actions” and “nation building” in cesspools around the globe.

“National Security” now morphed into “moral” obligations in every Third World hellhole we’ve rightly never heard of (and of course “National Security” also now includes troops training to fight the Conservative/Patriot threat on our own soil).

Troops scattered all over the frickin’ globe, and not a single nation we’re defending is paying for our protection.

Fearful avoidance of naming our enemies.

Not a single declared war since WWII.

Not a single unconditional surrender of an enemy since WWII.

Persecution and prosecution of front-line soldiers for doing their job.

Mamby pamby rules of engagement.

Mission control by the UN and other globalists.

Absurd social engineering crap (women and gays).

Over-reliance on technology, which we’re giving away to our enemies anyway.

Corrupt Military-Industrial Complex.

Weeding out of any worthwhile, warrior-minded brass.

Etc.

Just pathetic, and ultimately our downfall.
