25 Bizarre Examples That Show That The U.S. Government Is Absolutely Brimming With Idiots...
End of the American Dream ^ | March 8, 2011

If our founding fathers could see us today, what would they think? Unfortunately, they would probably come to the exact same conclusion that so many of us have come to - the U.S. government is absolutely brimming with idiots, incompetents and incredibly corrupt politicians. Today it is very rare to come across a politician that still has any integrity left. Washington D.C. has become such a cesspool that it seems to corrupt even most of the politicians that originally go there with good intentions. We have created the most complicated government in the history of the world and we have hundreds of thousands of pages of laws, and yet nothing seems to work right. Our economy is dying, our relationships with the rest of the world are a mess and we have accumulated the largest debt in the history of mankind. Meanwhile, our politicians openly hand out our money to their friends and to those that have donated money to their campaigns and they waste our money on some of the stupidest things imaginable. Have we now gotten to the point where our system of government has become so corrupted that it is almost impossible to repair it?...

The following are 25 examples that show that the U.S. government is absolutely brimming with idiots, incompetents and incredibly corrupt politicians....

#1 As 2010 came to an end, 96 departing members of the U.S. House of Representatives (most of them Democrats) awarded millions of dollars in extra pay to their staffers and aides as they closed down their offices. Keep in mind that this was U.S. taxpayer money that was being spent. The Wall Street Journal described what happened this way: The 96 lawmakers paid their employees $6.7 million, or 31%, more in the fourth quarter of 2010 than they did, on average, in the first three quarters of the year....

#21 The Conservation Commission of Monkton, Vermont recently received $150,000 from the federal government to construct a "critter crossing". Thanks to U.S. government money, the lives of "thousands" of migrating salamanders are now being saved...

#22 Approximately $1 million of U.S. taxpayer money has been used to create poetry for the Little Rock, New Orleans, Milwaukee and Chicago zoos. The goal of the "poetry" is to help raise awareness on environmental issues...

#23 The "entitlement mindset" that permeates not only the U.S. government but also much of the voting public was clearly displayed recently when a union protester in Wisconsin asked a Tea Party activist the following question: "Why do you have a right to your money?" Of course with politicians such as Howard Dean publicly declaring that it is the "job of the government" to redistribute wealth this is the kind of nonsense that you are going to get....

#13 Researchers at the State University of New York at Buffalo received $389,000 in federal stimulus funds to study 100 residents of Buffalo, New York and record how much malt liquor they drink and how much pot they smoke each day.

Glad to see my alma mater, doing her part...although they could have just asked me to talk to my cousins about pot and malt liquor...LOL

Approximately $1 million...to create poetry for the zoos.

Providing employment for poet laureates like Tyrone Greene & others, no doubt.

We have created the most complicated government in the history of the world and we have hundreds of thousands of pages of laws, and yet nothing seems to work right. Our economy is dying, our relationships with the rest of the world are a mess and we have accumulated the largest debt in the history of mankind.

As Reagan stated, "Government is not the solution; government is the problem".

As for a declining America, one cannot legislate commonsense or morality. It's the attitude that America has been inculcated with.

I will call the people of that era America the worst generation we've seen. I believe that Vietnam would have been a victory if different tactics were employed. The Tet Offensive appeared to be successful, but what was not reported was that the Viet Cong was virtually wiped out, and the NVA were severely mauled as well.

There is a point to this. Walter Kronkite reported that the war was lost at this point, and sadly enough, people believed him.

Vietnam was a huge loss at the end for not only one reason. Their main victory in my opinion was not forcing out the US military. It was the fact that they exported communism to the United States with much help from our own media.

This generation went on to become our judges, teachers, politicians, imbued with leftist beliefs. After all simply look around FR and you'll find some really insane ideas from the left.

Let me finish by qualifying my statement regarding "The Worst Generation." It is not all-inclusive; most people of that generation were not left-wing nuts. What we had was a vocal group that received favorable press from the media. Just as today.
Regards.

LOL. Well, not really. Malt liquor - I wonder if Jesse and Al would flag this as racist.

I’m not laughing... this stuff makes me angry. Angry at these becoming law, and even more angry that nothing is done to stop it. Meanwhile people like me are at work how many months of the year just to pay taxes.

I take this stuff personally. When I think of the TEA Party, this is primary reason I side with them. This recklessness with our hard earned paychecks (to fund such foolishness) is beyond an insult. It’s an attack on my God given freedom and an attack on my family.

It gets worse. My friend had to go to the unemployment office. She spent 5 hours there, and one of the things she heard made me so mad I could spit.

A man from Nigeria was applying for unemployment benefits. (that's bad enough) The agent helping him asked if he had children. He said he had a son, who lives in Nigeria with his mother, who he doesn't support. The agent said "you should add him to your application because you will get a lot more money." The Nigerian man declined, saying he didn't support him. The agent continued to push him, knowing the whole situation, until the man firmly declined.

As far as I am concerned, the agent should be in jail for promoting fraud.
