Most Americans see $4 or even $5 gasoline within 3 months.

I hope that Boehner and McConnell are working on an ANWR bill. If not, I expect that Pence, DeMint and the Tea Party freshman will make it happen.

If Republicans don’t start offering up bills to change this situation, they are complicit in the killing of our economy.

I can’t think of any good reason not to drill in ANWR and offshore. Not one.

according to a new IBD/TIPP poll.

I would actually like to see the polling trend for this question back to early 2000's. The people were FOR drilling in 2005!! The people were FOR drilling in 2008 and the people are STILL FOR drilling in 2011.

The problem is that we can't get a !%%!@%!@#%@!#% through Congress.

First, the Exxon Valdes accident occurred just as legislation was about to pass.

Then, Clinton had a chance to vote on it and vetoed it.

Then, in 2002, the Senate rejected a bill passed by the House.

Then, in 2005, the Senate AGAIN removed language from legislation to open up Section 1002 to drilling.

Also, there is a Congressional Moratorium on coastal drilling WHICH IS RENEWED ANNUALLY!!!

There are CLEAR strategic reasons to drill all over. Every time the Middle East becomes unstable, the US could turn on our Gas and Oil taps.

And as far as the environmentalists? I was just south of the Arctic Circle a few weeks ago and THERE IS NOTHING UP THERE! There is no FRAGILE ecosystem. The ecosystem has survived the extreme weather of the area, the ecosystem has been naturally HARDENED!!!

This is rather ominous: Morgan Stanley halts Libya trade "Most estimates suggest around half of the country's 1.6 million barrels per day of oil production capacity has been suspended due to clashes between government forces and rebels. Some trade sources expect other oil companies to follow the bank's lead and halt oil trade with Libya, effectively halting exports to the international market. "Players won't be able to buy Libyan crude even if it's there. It won't matter if they are producing or not," said a crude oil trader. Austrian energy group OMV said today it was still getting oil from Libya despite severe output disruptions. "

I expect the Obama administration will implement price controls on gasoline that will cause long lines at the gas pumps ...deja vu Jimmy Carter.

Soros and Obama’s Clean-Energy Czar Join New Private Equity Fund
Feb. 24 2011
By WILLIAM PENTLAND

Private equity firm Silver Lake is launching a new fund, Silver Lake Kraftwerk, with billionaire financier George Soros to invest in clean energy businesses.

Silver Lake manages $14 billion and has offices in both Silicon Valley and China. The new fund will focus on providing growth capital to companies that “leverage technology and business model innovation to improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and emissions, harness renewable energy, and more efficiently use natural resources, among other applications,” according to Reuters.

In addition to Soros, the new fund also secured a commitment from Cathy Zoi, who recently resigned as the Obama administration’s acting under secretary for energy and assistant secretary for energy efficiency and renewable energy, to join the fund in April. Zoi earned her spurs working for Al Gore as a climate-change crusader and has since ascended the ranks to become a star in her own right at the U.S. Department of Energy....
