Gallup says that not having a clear presidential front-runner in the Republican party is historically abnormal:
The wide-open battle for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination with nearly a three-way tie among Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, and Mitt Romney is quite different from the typical pattern observed in past Republican nomination contests. In Gallup polling since 1952, Republican Party nomination races always featured a clear front-runner at this stage of the campaign, and in almost all cases, that front-runner ultimately won the nomination.

I’m not ready to worry seriously about making a presidential choice yet. I’m more concerned with taking over the senate now. I like the idea of Rob Steele running against Debbie Stabenow.
Steele entered the house race late against Dingell and forced a tough expensive race where Dingell should have simply walked to an easy victory. Dingell won but not without taking the first real beating of his decades too long career.
Plus 5 in 1980 was not a huge lead.
[Palin guarantees 4 more years of OBama.]
That was clever.
Romney guarantees 4 more years of OBama.
Huckleberry guarantees 4 more years of OBama.
Newt guarantees 4 more years of OBama.
There, I’m three times as clever.
“Palin is a take no prisoners kinda gal. I think that is what we need right now.”
Agreed. There seems to be a ruthless streak there which is needed right now. Not vicious, but ruthless. Sarah Barracuda versus the Eel.
And, she excites the voters.
And there you have it.
We have already chosen our nominee. The only question is, how much damage can the MSM-RINO coalition accomplish before her inauguration?
Did they mean “President of Mexico” when they endorsed him?
I’m leaning more towards a dark horse from Georgia.
I’ve always thought she is too “squeaky”, but I watched a speech she gave a couple months ago. Her points she made were tough and so poignant. No one else said it like she did. Since then, I’ve decided I’ll support her if she runs.
Well if I must choose between these three, Palin is my woman!! In my opinion all she would have to do to surge far ahead of Huckabee and Romney is to announce and hold a rally.
I still hold out hope that there is someone in the wings that will make a truly great President, and that he or she will come forward real soon...
Almost all of the Hucksters vote will fall into Palin’s lap. So the thing is..., how quickly can the Huckster fall out of it.
It’s driving them nuts that they don’t know who to character assassinate.
We really have to elect someone that will stand up to the dims, the media, and RINOs and fight instead of “trying to get along” and “reaching across the aisle” or laying down to be walked on as I see it. Palin is definately the one I can see going head to head and toe to toe.
“Bobby Kennedy convinced him he should go into politics as a candidate.”
That’s not exactly how Michael Reagan tells the story.
I heard him say in an interview that Robert Kennedy had GE fire Ronald Reagan as host of the GE Theater.
In a sense you’re right; but it was Kennedy’s chicanery that resulted in Ronaldus Maximus becoming president. That was no act of altruism on Kennedy’s part. No Kennedy I know understands the word.
Four years ago the democrats had a front runner who was considered unbeatable; a primary shoo-in and also the presumed next president.
What was her name, what was her name.....?
As far as the republicans go - the fact there isn’t a clear leader might be an indicator that they are moving away from the tradition of awarding the nomination based on who has been waiting in line the longest.
That’s not a bad thing.
“Im leaning more towards a dark horse from Georgia.”
Good line.
Don’t know what motivates me more - Watching Palin take sweet revenge against the media.
or - seeing Obama get beat by that dark horse -
Black Panther vs. Green Lantern
I wonder if Obama would still get 98% of that vote considering his latest DOMA stand?
I do think she will shortly become the person to beat. Lot sharper than the has beens.
Frankly, I like the fact that there is no front runner! It gives a wide open field for ALL the candidates to put their ideas out there for voters to see, and they’ll choose which ideas they like the best.
Excellent, you are informed and observant. I was deliberately obtuse in my relating Kennedy's part. One who thinks left will read it as lauding Kennedy's statesmanship (LOL), an informed reader would spell it differently, as you did.
The important part is that the entire left, Rats and MSM is consumed by that chicanery, lying and Marxist philosophy, and Ronald Reagan LEARNED that. Then he decided that he would LEAD as well as promote, create, and support conservative principles and policy. Sarah Palin has also now learned that critical lesson about the left, and acts accordingly. As such her path to candidacy will be much different than the typical GOP candidate.
