Governor drops in on Alaska (Jan Brewer vacations with Todd & Sarah Palin!)

PHOENIX — The governor of the 48th state is in the 49th state.

Jan Brewer, back in Phoenix just several days after her trip to Washington, took off Friday for an unannounced trip to watch the Iditarod races and fly around Mt. McKinley. Press aide Matthew Benson said she's due back Monday night.

The whirlwind trip is not all sightseeing. Benson said Brewer is “spending a little time” with the Todd and Sarah Palin, as well as with Sean Parnell, the current Alaska governor.

None of this was made public ahead of time. In fact, the only reason her travels became public Sunday is that Brewer decided to share a few photos with her friends on Facebook.

Benson said the trip is not being made with public dollars. And there are no state staffers along for the ride, though Brewer, like all Arizona governors, gets security from the state Department of Public Safety.

“In Alaska for a few days for my first vacation in over two years as governor,” the governor tweeted once she hit the ground. “Heading out to dinner tonight with my husband.”

Benson said son, Michael, who has become a regular on her out-of-town trips, also went along.

Brewer also kept her friends up to date with some photos with the owners of Pizza Olympia in Anchorage as well as a few she took from what she called a “flightseeing” tour. And Sunday she tweeted she was preparing to go out on some snow machines near Denali National Park.

OMG! Conservatives getting together, who knows what evil they will wreak on the status quo? Sure to bring out the worst in PDS’ers and others on FR who love to hate our own.

The liberals will wonder why those two are getting together. And that will make them nervous.

Fox didn't fire Palin for not declaring she was not running - as they did others.

How about king-making if we are going to toss out guesses?

I would expect Brewer to not declare until late in the game if she runs. Her conflict with the Obamunists over immigration keeps her at the forefront of the public eye while expending no stored political capitol.

Between the two, I would take Brewer's achievements over Palin’s anyway.

If Palin wins, imagine the horror of the DHS dike being appointed and replaced by Brewer. The irony..

You are incorrect..... Fox had to supend Newt and Rick because they were indicating that they would announce soon or do an exploratory commitee.....

Precisely. And Likely they were asked - Newt utterly lacks the integrity to volunteer that.

Since Palin was not let go, it is a pretty simple inference to assume she said was not announcing soon or forming an exploratory committee when asked.

What if Sarah Palin had a week long huddle with Governors Rick Scott, Scott Walker, Mitch Daniels, Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal, Jan Brewer, Susana Martinez, Mary Fallin, Sean Parnell, Butch Otter and other conservative governors?

Time to take our country back from Socialists and RINOs.

You don’t understand.....Sarah said that she would never do an exploratory committee, she said that she would just jump in the race and from all indications she didn’t deny that she got people in IA and said when press on making an announcement that there’s still a few months away from where most candidates make such an announcements! She’s in!

You might want to read up on Palin's accomplishments before you make that judgement. They're considerable.

I believe something has been up all along. Look at Sarah Palin’s endorsements in the last election and those she is friendly with around the country. Folks that will be working on her behalf when she runs for president.

I believe that Michelle Bachmann is not running for president but is really laying the groundwork to help Palin get the nomination.

Sarah Palin endorsed Branstad in Iowa, Bachmann has been down there building tea party minded support.

Governors Haley,SC, Walker, WI Scott, FL and Brewer AZ, among others are all of like mind and I believe working to get Palin the nomination. I’d add Gov Perry Tx to the mix as well and the new “tea party” congress.

They all know that their window of opportunity to change the direction of the country is small. They also know Sarah Palin and believe she can lead them in getting it done. Pure speculation on my part but it works, doesn’t it?

Not only that, but Fox said that their contracts were coming up and they would not be renewed, and that is because as we know, they will be running by then. I think it has something to do with equal time, but, I'm not sure.

Palin hasn't announced yet and her contract may not be up soon like Newt's.

I think your speculation is right on.

Palin has repeatedly cited the 10th Amendment and state sovereignty for many issues. Those other conservative governors share that with her. They need a President who will support them in their 10th Amendment sovereignty. Palin could be that President — thus they would support her effort to become that President.
