Where did all the men go?
Once the vast majority, they now make up just over 40 percent of the nation's college students. And its not just college.
Women dominate high school honor rolls and make up more than 70 percent of class valedictorians.
And where are the men going?
[snip]
Experts used to explain away the college gender imbalance by noting that men had plenty of high-paying job opportunities to them in manufacturing and construction, but then came the last recession.
The numbers are staggering: 78 percent of the jobs lost since 2007 were held by men, leaving one out of every five working age men out of work.
[snip]
In the last 10 years, 2 million more women than men graduated from college in the United States. Thats an achievement gap that is having profound consequences on the economy.

In the nation's elementary schools, where many young men first start to fall behind, there's a growing sense that many boys need a more hands-on approach.
By school age, three-quarters of the boys in the class are more physically active, more developmentally immature, more impulsive than girls of the same age, Thompson said. Boys like competition, they like teamwork, they like to produce a product. Boys tend on average to not like to sit quietly with a page of writing in front of them.
Because girls develop verbal skills sooner, some schools are experimenting with single-sex classrooms.
Others, like Hackberry Hill Elementary, just outside Denver, have come up with a whole new take on the Three Rs: reading, writing, and recess.
Jumping jacks and stretching exercises break up reading lessons and combat boys short attention spans.
Among the fastest-growing jobs of the next decade, only two, janitorial work and computer engineering, are expected to be dominated by men.

>But thats not the real world.
I never said it was.
I merely presented a counter-example that answers the question you presented, which was:
“Even if the college numbers are true, cant the 78% of jobs lost belonged to men be a reflection that after its all said and done, males still dominate the workplace?”
It *could* be the case, but it is not *necessarily* the case. {Akin to saying all positive integers are natural numbers, but not all natural numbers are positive integers.}
>That would be like if the NBA eliminated some franchises, someone could say, well thats not fair, as 80% of the layoffs were black. In a male dominated workplace, layoffs are going to be disproportionately male, especially since they occupy the highest paid positions.
Ah, but do they also dominate the lowest paid positions as well, like the janitor example?
>In order for layoffs to disporportionately affect females, they would have to occur at the admin/nursing/teaching spots, etc where females tend to dominate.
And that was the point of citing that the 78% were male-dominated: things like construction.
The female-dominated sectors will be coming soon: just look at WI (or NJ) and teachers; it will be most informative to notice how the budget-cuts in education are distributed (or not) between teachers-proper and admin.
They may have a degree but they hardly dominate the male professions and/or traqdes...doctors, engineers, electricians, plumbers, highway maintenance....
Generally, they're sitting at desks doing data input....Nothing wrong with that....
That's not all; consider the legal-system and "domestic violence" restraining orders. A man can be immediately stripped of his right to bear arms, without a jury-trial, simply because a [ex-]girlfriend wants him to suffer.
Decades of Ritalin. Look at those stats and the forced drugging of many more young males than females.
Did it really take 65 posts before someone hit the nail on the head ???
The gender gap in college is a serious issue with implications for the future. Naturally, the feminists dismiss it and say the real problem is not enough girls in whatever field.
You’re right up to a point. However, I know of many conservative women who are nurses and teachers. I can honestly say, though, that I’ve never met a conservative social worker. I don’t think I’ve even met a moderate social worker.
“And where are the men going? “
They are looking for their nads which were lost to PC a few years back!
Thanks! I laughed til I cried. That was insanely hilarious. I don’t know if it is by design or just me, but the dynamics of all of the frozen men running caught my eye instantly and the last thing my eyes scanned was the kid holding the sign, so it worked like a good punchline.
Man, that was hilarious! Thank you. I needed that. “Dad” indeed. Classic.
Thinking about this for The Younger Son.
Whym because I was describing you?
Make me dough boy.
Wake up and see the world.
Look at reality and get your head out of stats and your behind Betty.
There are many lazy men today. I see them all the time and are first to bitch and complain about their lives. The men in this country are a sad bunch. Too many excuses and not taking responsiblity and growing up. Fortunately that isn’t me.
Um yeah, more like a couple seconds needed, but even that seems like wasted seconds on a mental midget who types in his mother’s basement. Wow.
You are correct on all the other. They learn it young.
The person who told me of his plans, said the young men at college discussed this and they all had this frame of mind.
Get a little lady, get her to work. That way, they don't have to, much. And I think that was the mindset of so many and they passed this down to their sons.
The little lady didn't know what was happeing, she only thought she was a "Helping Hand", little did she know it was a planned scam on her, while he was out playing his sports, carousing around, etc., whatever. She had no clue, UNTIL
She found out what he was doing with a sweetie on the side, at her expense. She dumped him, struck out on her own. Many youngs girls now, saw that lesson, and have decided if they have to work and bring home the bacon, they don't need a HIM around to support.
Question is: How do we get it sorted out and back to what it is supposed to be. I think it is too late, hope I'm wrong. God has a plan.
