According to Politico, President Obama will be forced to abandon his controversial nomination of Donald Berwick as the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Politico reports that "Senate Democrats have given up on confirming Don Berwick as CMS administrator in the wake of a letter from 42 Republican senators opposing the nomination," as "there's no way for Berwick to get the 60 votes needed to clear the Senate."
As with his various "czars," President Obama had previously circumvented the Senate confirmation process (despite having a Democratically controlled Senate) to install Berwick in his post. He had done so by issuing a ârecess appointment,â but that appointment expires at the end of this year.

Berwick was an avowed socialist who was determined to bring us UK style medicine. *&#& him.
Wow, even Juan and Lindsey signed it?!
Take a hike!
McCainiac and Lady Graham will defect. And call for others to do so.
Isn’t this the advocate of Death Panels for the elderly to save Obamacare money for those who will cast more votes over more years???? If Sarah Palin is not POTUS by then, she should take out his accidency Senator Begich and arrange the choice and financing of the next primary opponent for worthless treasonette Moocowski.
Isn’t he already in there as a recess appointment?
“...that appointment expires at the end of this year.”

yitbos
I know obammy did a recess appointment before on this guy. Can he do another recess appointment, or is he allowed only to do that only once with the same person?
Good. A small victory. Berwick is nothing but a damned Communist.
Nice!
:Yes!!!!!!!!!
Has to be re appointed in the new 112th congress. That is all recess appts can serve, just until the new congress is sworn in,
This is the best news that I have heard all day.
