A bill carried by Rep. Andy Nuñez (I-Hatch) that would rescind the state’s policy allowing illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses successfully bypassed the committee process — a rarely used parliamentary procedure called “blasting a bill” — Friday (March 4) when the House floor voted 42-28 to move the measure onto the Senate.
Eight Democrats defected to the side of the Republicans and Nuñez, completing two arduous days of deliberation that saw the 75-year-old Nuñez stay on his feet, verbally punching and counterpunching opponents, some of whom bitterly complained about the bill skipping committees and the passage of a measure they say singles out Mexican-Americans.

I just hope that people are not harrased because of their looks. Seems to me that there are many good Americans of Hispanic origin living in New Mexico.
Here’s how I look at this issue. :)
As a short, curly haired woman with green eyes, if lots of crimes are being committed by short, curly haired, green eyed women and I get “hassled” because of it, I’m NOT going to be mad at the police.
What I’ll do is rally against all the other short, curly haired green eyed women committing the crimes.
They’re the problem. Not the police.
According to the Dim U.S. Forest Service in CA, they are
misplaced foreign travelers.
Oh, yes, and I heard Eleanor Chavez thinks this “governor is a very dangerous person.”
Ms. Chavez and her cronies have spent the last 70 years doing their one party best to keep this state at the bottom of all nationwide lists, yet when we finally elect a governor who might make some positive changes they immediately label her as dangerous.
Quite amusing and predictable that when Susana used her left over campaign money to get the word out on the scandal of giving illegals driver’s licenses, the reactionary old libs leaped to call the use of that money illegal.
I was shocked at how many really old people are at the roundhouse. Why, not? They’ve never been challenged.
